Dear Dr. Zand, I did not realize how looks can change someone's self-esteem. The Botox has softened the wrinkles and it seems like the spark has been added back into my life! I had been suffering from TMJ problems--extreme pain in the right- side jaw area for years. I saw multiple doctors about the constant pain. I thought I must have an ear infection, and saw two doctors for that, only to learn it wasn't my ear that was causing the pain. I saw the dentist repeatedly because my teeth on the right side hurt so much. Then I was referred to a dentist who specializes in jaw muscle pain, and she prescribed muscle relaxers and a physical therapist. I did both for months. Still no relief. And the pain showed up on both sides. Then one day, I mentioned my problem to my awesome dermatologist, Dr. Zand. She told me she could give me Botox injections into my jaw muscles and end the pain. I'll never forget the day I went in to get the injections. My face, cheekbones, ears, teeth-- it all hurt so bad. The shots were virtually painless, and within a week or so, my jaw pain was gone! It was life-changing. No side effects, just no pain in my face anymore. It's been months now, and the pain is still gone. I only wish I had known what she could do years earlier! Lexi has been described in other reviews in glowing terms as caring, precise, gentle, and more. I couldn't agree more. Simply put, she has all the traits of a person you want to care for your precious face. I just love her, and you will too.

I first want to start by saying the entire staff was extremely nice and welcoming. However, I was left disappointed in the services I came in for. Here are my thoughts and suggestions for the office: 1. When booking an initial 'medical' appt (vs cosmetic) I reserved online with Dr Zand, only to be called by the office and told she does not do medical, appearing to only service patients with cosmetic appts. This was off-putting but decided to book an appt anyway, as offered, with one of the NP's. 2. This was my first time here and the first patient appt was only 15 minutes. Not enough time at all for a medical appt. First appointments should entail a full inventory and discussion of a patient's needs/current state/symptoms and because of this... 3. An inadequate assessment of needs and inappropriate recommendation of skin products made by the NP. Had there been more time to conduct a full overview of where my body/skin was at, the NP would have hopefully seen the harsh skin care product was not suited for my sensitive skin and would have in fact made it worse. Overall, it seems this office is great for cosmetic services but I definitely do not recommended this office for anyone really looking to get adequate care for robust skincare support for long-term skin health. In my experience, it seems the level of care is surface level. I will not be returning. Tips for the practice: 1. Have an MD available for medical appts. Yes, NP's are helpful, but a patient should have the option to be treated by an MD. It makes a difference clinically and for business ethics/standards. 2. For initial appointments, at least 45 minutes should be scheduled for it. 15 minutes is a waste of time and effort for everyone.

Lexi does my Botox perfectly! I told her I want a natural look and she delivered! She is also very honest regarding the treatments she recommends. I fully trust her and will always be back to see her!

Dr. Zand is by far the best doctor I have ever had in my entire life. Her brilliance as a physician is only overshadowed by her heart, compassion and vulnerability to be authentic. I am grateful beyond words not only for what she has done for my personal dermatological issues (which was a huge deal for me), but also for being such a wonderful and genuine human being and for treating me like I am the only patient she has. She is a true gift.

Dr. Zand has been my dermatologist since she first began practicing in Marin County, and I am happy to give her my highest recommendation. She is a certified MOHS surgeon, has impeccable academic and medical credentials (Harvard, MIT), is thorough in her examinations, brilliant at answering questions, and absolutely superb in her interpersonal manner with patients. Several years ago she discovered a cancer on the edge of my upper lip which required a very delicate MOHS surgery. She was quick to recognize my dread and high anxiety, spent more time than any other doctor would in providing me additional consultations to explain MOHS, reviewed with me her portfolio of before and after surgery photos, and assuaged my frantic worries with honesty and complete explanations. My outcome was beyond what I could have wished for. The original surgical sutures (the black stitches that make you look like Frankenstein) which went from my lip line to below my cheekbone were gone in no time, and I have NO SCAR or any evidence of surgery on my face. My result speaks to her skill. In addition, I see Dr. Zand for regular skin cancer checkups, for Botox, for general skin care advice, and I recommend her to everyone I know. This young doctor is a rare find – an exceptionally skilled doctor and surgeon who hopefully will be in practice in Marin for a long, long time.
