List of City Of Hope Mission Hills's Reviews
Terrible staff , very rude, unprofessional
My dad was treated here for approximately 1 month. He has been a patient of City of Hope Duarte for over a year, but because this location was closer for us, we thought we would give it a try since it has the "City of Hope" name, but in all honesty, that is all it has. I have been to three "satellite" City of Hope locations and none compare to the Duarte campus. The patient care, efficiency, and compassion is lacking. I highly recommend anyone wanting high quality treatment and compassion, go to Duarte. It is worth it. The oncologist at Mission Hills kept putting orders in for my dad at locations/centers that we did not want and it took many phone calls and messages through the portal for them to change the order. Non-stop calling because no one was either calling back or making the change when they said they would. We kept requesting procedures and tests be done at the Duarte campus, but they were put in for Holy Cross. It was a nightmare to get them to change anything and it took days. I had to call Duarte to assist since this location didn't seem to care. The oncologist also put down the wrong diagnosis for my dad and when I asked him to change it, he said he wasn't sure he could. He also questioned other physician's recommendations simply because he was not up on the research himself. Never mind that he googled something in front of us to answer a question of ours. One night after my dad had his first immunotherapy treatment at this facility, we were told that if he had any reactions, to call the office right away. My dad had a fever and a rash shortly after and my mom was concerned. She called after hours and the physician on call was rude and seemed to be bothered. When my dad was due for his 2nd immunotherapy and his elevated levels prevented him from going through with it, I received a call from the oncologist to come and pick up my parents because my dad could not have treatment. I was expecting to walk inside, get my parents and have the oncologist tell me in-person what was going on, but instead, I showed up to find my parents sitting on the bench out front waiting for me confused. Way to treat an 84 and 80 year old. Save yourself the headache and frustration. You will be on the phone many times just to correct things and we regret not sticking with the Duarte campus. I hope that the COH higher ups will be more interested in quality than quantity of centers. This is an ongoing issue....
Doctor Lin, saved my life!!! I had a hysterectomy, with unexpected complication. Dr Lin, handled it wit his amazing talent and professionalism. It pains me very much, when I see negative reviews left by patients, who do not understand, that during a surgery, unexpected complications can arise and he has to choose going the way that is best for the patient and will save your life. When we went in surgery, I trusted him 100%. He is a very talented, I appreciate his contagious calm and positivity. Thank you Doctor Lin!!!"
Dr Schoellhammer was my surgeon and spent a lot of time with me, explained everything in great detail and has an absolutely wonderful, kind manner. So happy to have found him.
Dr Schoellhammer is top notch surgical oncologist. No problem with staffs.
I was briefly a patient of Dr Sanani. A terrible experience from beginning to end. The office is terrible at receiving messages. I had an initial visit 2/8/22. I called constantly to follow up and heard a range of ridiculous excuses why they hadn’t received my messages like there was a power outage, the doctor was out, etc. I sent a message on Friday straight to their team and again it wasn’t received for whatever reason. They booked an appointment at the same time as my radiation appointment. In my message I said to cancel my appointment and still they called twice before 9am saying they never got the authorization for the appointment. Initially the doctor had set up a treatment plan and then never followed through. So I’ve been without hormone blocking medication since February. For someone with hormone positive cancer, this is a big deal. I was also in the hospital for a week and didn’t even receive a courtesy follow up call even though I did from everyone else including my primary. I highly suggest looking elsewhere for care. I’m now receiving care under UCLA. They’ve treated me better in one week than City of Hope has since February. Cancer is already difficult enough. It doesn’t need to be made worse by incompetent offices and doctors. I’m blocking this office giving them the same respect they’ve given me.
I love the staff here. They are always friendly and efficient. I get an infusion every month. The front staff are friendly and the infusion nurses are excellent. They always have a smile, are fantastic at starting my iv, and remember details of past conversations. I love the people here.
If I can give this place a zero I would! The staff is incompetent. Its taking me over a month to get a referal from them sent and thats calling every day! Than when I finally get them to send it it had all the wrong information on it and was not what i discussed with the dr! Horrible and Incompetent staff! Its been over a month and still have not got this resolved constant calling every day and all they do is send a message for the person to give me a call. On my first appt they had me mixed up with another patient as well they do not verify date of births or patients identity when calling patients back to the room.
If I could give them less, I would; they constantly book appointments, only to cancel them a month later, a few days before the appointment— PATHETIC! Sick of the no-personality/ apathetic b.s from the front desk, the girls at the scheduling department, too......HORRIBLE!! NO, I am not a spited customer, who got burned once— this is a continuous cycle; and this clinic needs to do workshops for their employees about business etiquette, and customer service! The only thing I will commend are the NURSES!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
