Ann Tran's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Ann Tran switched the prescription for my baby sister's left and right eye two years in a row. We finally figured out what she did when we went to Costco and the optometrist there told us that the prescription was reversed. My sister had worn this reversed prescription for more than three years! They told us that this could have severely harmed her eyes and suggested that we should sue the optometrist that made this mistake. When we went to talk to Dr. Ann Tran about this, she refused to admit that she did anything wrong and claimed that my sister's eyes just "improved" - as if we're idiots enough to believe that. Even though we were perfectly polite, she got very rude and aggressive with us and even threatened to get us kicked out. Honestly a nightmare of a person. Don't ever go to an optometrist who can't tell the difference between right and left. We filed a complaint with the Board of Optometry. I hope she gets taken to small claims the next time she tries this with another patient.

Wow, fiancé recommended Dr.Tran to me and I’m so glad I went. For the same price I paid at Costco they do so much more. You really feel like your getting a bargain and are being care for. Dr Tran and her team are very thorough and professional definitely recommended to anyone.

A patient's worst nightmare if they actually want to be treated and not just billed. She never put on gloves, and until pushed her to run medical tests and rely on her microscope rather than her own eyes - she argued with me over something I have been dealing with for longer than she has been on this planet. I had to tell her what I had and tell her how it is treated. Any first year med student knows about psoriasis and other skin ailments. This is nothing that exotic or unusual. Horrible!

My wife has been going to Ann for the last couple of years after suffering an eye injury from karate and really likes the care she gets. My eye exam was more thorough then other exams I've had and the office staff was easy to work with.

Love Dr. Tran!!! I have been away from Orange County for a couple of years and now that I am back....cannot wait to get my vision checked! She is always so generous with her time, never rushing you out the door.

Best eye doctor, EVER!!! My ENTIRE family and I have been seeing Dr. Tran for years. She's very patient, very pleasant to be with and truly cares for her patients. She has a wealth of knowledge and is very confident in her work and practice. LOVE, LOVE, LOVER her!!!

I went to see Dr. Tran based on all the positive yelp reviews. The wait wasn't too long, which was good. An "intern" took me to three different rooms (all the rooms with the right equipment were full) before I got to meet Dr. Tran. Dr. Tran was nice and the exam was like at any other optometrist I've been to. Before our exam was over she explained that if I order a year's worth of contacts, the price is comparable to costco's prices. So I ordered my years worth of contacts and they told me it would take 3-4 days. Well over 2 .5 weeks later, no contacts. I call the office, and the contact specialist tells me that it looks like the order is there but was never placed???? With no apology, she tells me that she will call me back, well 2 days later... no call.. how unprofessional. I will probably have to call them back to figure out if I will ever receive my contacts. Not happy with the staff here and will NOT be going back to this office. WHERE ARE MY CONTACTS???? So annoyed.

I am new in the area and was looking for an eye doctor and found these raving reviews on Yelp. I will never return to see Dr. Tran and cannot recommend her. For a simple eye exam, she said the word "Tumor" four (4) times in front of my young daughter. "Sometimes this can be caused by a tumor".. "Lets see if she has a tumor"... "This machine will allow me to look behind her eyes and see if she has a tumor".... "Good news is she does not appear to have a tumor".... I am not questioning Dr. Trans's ability, as I do not have enough information to comment.... I am however reviewing her bedside manner with children. This was simply an eye exam and felt like a cancer diagnosis. Irregardless of what she is looking for during he examination, it is not appropriate to be using these terms for a mere eye exam.

I was seen by Dr. Tran at the Mission Viejo Tayani institute location and she is the best! The wait to see her was so quick and easy! She checked my eyes and thoroughly explained how much my vision has changed in the last year. She really took the time to make sure I got all my questions answered and her recommendations were great! I highly recommend her!!!!
