List of Choc Physicians Network's Reviews
I’ve had a few issues with Choc. The drs are nice and work well with my son but you have to jump through so many hoops just to get stuff done and reception makes everything 10 times more difficult. So far I haven’t seen any proof that choc deserves the reputation they have. As a parent I’m not impressed.
It’s not an ideal situation to have to go to the ER during this COVID pandemic but I had to bring my 2 year old in. The staff kept us nicely distanced from others everyone was super friendly. Dr. Cohen saw her and probably was the most informative doctor we have seen. Also ver personable. Everyone was super sweet. She ended up needing antibiotics nothing too major. I haven’t gotten my bill yet but I work in the medical field and know that everything cost an arm and a leg especially ER visits so can’t judge them for that. Its about quality of work and they did a wonderful job
Dr. Idries shaheen is gastroenterlogist at CHOC hospital. She is a kind and friendly, but l don't recomend her for your children, she doesn't have time to get to know a child as well as his / her parents. She goes by her computer and her books. Everyone is different even though they have a same disease. She treats everybody the same.
Took my child here and for a nurse maid elbow and was charged $15,000 for an elbow fracture. I told them there was no fracture and they did an audit and said it was correct. I said how can it be correct if there is no fracture. They did another audit and said I was right. It’s been 5 months for them to figure this out and they knocked off $8000 from my bill and now I’m still fighting other wrong charges. This hospital will upcode and falsify your bill. I’d recommend going somewhere else.
Here in ER because my Dr sent me here for EKG done in the office. I’m still sitting in waiting room 7 hours later. Why!!!!
If you can avoid this place, do so. We went here for an ER visit when my son had a temp of 105 and abdominal pain. They gave him a children's tylenol and then we waited for over 4 hours. Finally they took him back and did an ultrasound. Another hour of waiting and a doctor told us that the ultrasound looked fine, and that he likely just had a stomach bug. For all this we were charged over $9,000 (including multiple charges for ultrasounds when only one was done). Called to explain that we were over charged and were told they couldn't do anything about the bill because our insurance had already paid a portion of it. Absolutely insane!
Nurses are super nice and caring!
Our son was transferred from a hospital 2 hours away. After being told he needed a children's hospital, and finding out Loma Linda was full, our ER doctor said "Choc is where he need to be" even though it as far, we trusted her, and we couldn't be happier. From the ambulance to the room took seconds, the team was instantly looking at my son, and not only making sure he was good, but making sure my wife and I were informed, and comfortable. they gave us all the formation, gave us a tour of the children's floor, and even showed us to the Ronald McDonald's house where we'd be welcome to use while were there.Everyone was super nice, happy, and attentive. My son actually started calling it his hotel room. If something ever happened again to my son i'd want this same experience and care. I can't thank the staff enough for all their help.

Received answers right away. Clean rooms, welcoming staff. Helped us get through our nightmare by answering the millions of questions we had.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
