List of David R. Gonzalez's Reviews
I needed my insurance company to authorize an urgent procedure. My doctor submitted the request. Dr. David Regan somehow got hold of the authorization request. HE ISN'T EVEN MY DOCTOR. Without checking to see if I was his patient, he sent my insurance a denial. Furthermore, the procedure he denied wasn't even the one was that ordered. He had misinterpreted the procedure that my doctor wanted me to have. To make matters worse, I called his medical assistant, Tara, to explain what went wrong. She refused to return my several calls, and the office staff hung up on me at least twice. Ultimately I was told that "Dr. Gonzalez could not have made this mistake, because you're not his patient." They must think his name appeared magically on the denial.
Beware. I needed my insurance company to authorize an urgent procedure. My doctor submitted the request. Dr. David Regan Gonzalez somehow got hold of it. HE ISN’T EVEN MY DOCTOR; but is in my medical network. Without checking to see if I was his patient, he sent my insurance a denial. Furthermore, the procedure he denied wasn’t even the one that was ordered by my doctor. He had misinterpreted the request. Based on his error, I was denied urgent services. His medical assistant, Tara, wouldn’t return my calls. She instructed the office staff to tell me, “Dr. Gonzalez couldn’t have made this mistake because you’re not his patient.” No one would look into it further.
Beware of this doctor
Do not see this doctor: He made mistakes in approving a critical treatment. His errors caused my health to fail even more. His office wouldn't explain what went wrong and finally stopped returning my calls altogether.
Felt very judged about RX meds I've been prescribed for post partum depression by my OBGYN and I had a complete blood test panel done but nothing was discussed in detail or shown to me and they also just mailed my husbands blood results to us without a call or explanation on them. His front office girls Bonnie and casey are great though :) he..not so much. His answers to my hands and feet and lips going numb constantly is just to "work out" definitely won't be returning as a patient nor will my husband.
Our family has been seeing doctor Gonzalez for years. He is an excellent physician and a caring person. He cancelled his contract with Monarch Healthcare, but we were able to switch to Mission Heritage Medical Group. We have been very happy with the new office location.

Dr Gonzalez is a wonderful, caring Physician!!
This doctor's office is THE WORST! Save yourself the headache and choose from the hundreds of other local doctors' offices out there. I was looking for a primary physician and actually went to see Dr. Lynn Napoli, who was Dr. Gonzalez's partner at the time. I went to get an annual physical discount on my corporate insurance from Northrop Grumman, no other reason. I repeated this almost obnoxiously throughout my visit: "please make sure you bill this as an annual physical" as corporate mentioned to do that. Well, it fell on deaf ears, as it was billed as an "office visit" and I was charged $250 for it. What?? I have Anthem Blue Cross PPO, good insurance. I called the billing person, Beth, who happens to be Dr. Gonzalez's wife, and I was extremely nice, but because of this, I missed the deadline for my company's discount and it was delayed six months. Cool, no biggie, stuff happens. Beth was also very nice and they will re-bill. Then I get wallopped with a $400. bill from Quest for routine blood work. WHAT?! The whole purpose of this visit was to save money, remember. I call again, and I swear, I spent more time on the phone back and forth to this office, (keeping my cool more than was ever required!) than I spent at the visit! So I was finally told in Feb. 2018. that this was resolved. Phew. So suddenly in June 2018 I get the exact same bill from Quest. Unreal. I call the doctor's office and had THE RUDEST experience of my life from one of the receptionists named Bonnie. She said that the insurance said I hadn't met my deductible, which I knew full well I had. So I call the insurance (for the thousandth time) and we call back on a three-way to the same receptionist and the insureance rep says that is not the reason, and after a very terse conversation with Bonnie, the insurance rep actually hangs up on her and flagged this office as problematic in their database. (I would be gleeful if they got enough complaints as to get dropped from Blue Cross Anthem PPO! Who is rude to both a patient AND an insurance company? It is just poor business etiquette.) So then I was actually told after all of this that I would have to pay this $400 bill for an annual physical b/c it was after the deadline to appeal. I knew this couldn't be correct, so after more research, I figured out from Quest that it was a coding mistake and I ended up calling Beth back and was apologetic, saying it was a mistake after all, but that their receptionsit was extremely adversarial and they might want to talk to her about that. This would all be fine and well and I would have left it alone, but I actually just received a letter in the mail from this crazy office which stated that they can longer see me, in any medical capacity, and to find another doctor! PLEASE! I would never have returned anyway, but after all I dealt with, to send someone a letter like that does not bode well for their customer service. It was clearly a "vendetta letter" from this receptionist woman, with mispelling my name "Virginia" (a state;) and sloppily not including the forms it stated it was including. Skip this unprofessional office and go elsewhere! There are plenty to choose from in that medical building alone!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
