List of MIchael D. Burdi's Reviews
I had lower back pain for about one year. The pain usually came and went, but this time it was different. When I woke up on the morning of April 21st, I felt pain not only in my back but also in my entire right leg. I went to urgent care, where they gave me a prescription for pain, but they didn't help. Over the following days, my pain worsened, so my husband took me to the emergency room (ER). At the ER, they gave me more painkiller pills and an injection, which provided only temporary relief before the endless pain returned. During that time, I couldn't sleep and I couldn't stay at one position for more than one minute, no mention having a normal life like driving, walking or eating at the table. I found Doctor Burdi through my insurance network. I visited Tyler Waldron PAC, who is Doctor Burdi's assistant. We tried steroids, physical therapy, and various painkillers, but my pain never went away. I also attempted chiropractic treatment, but it didn't work either. After undergoing the MRI, Tyler presented me with two options: injecting steroids into the spine (conservative therapy) or taking a Lumbar Diskectomy surgery. From that point forward, I began seeing both Doctor Burdi and Tyler. Doctor Burdi thoroughly and professionally explained the advantages and disadvantages of both options to me. Considering the seriousness of the pain I suffered every day and the size of the herniated disc, I decided to move for a soonest surgery. Right after the surgery, when I woke up, the pain in my right leg was completely gone. Can you imagine the relief and ecstasy after suffering from the excruciating pain for almost two months Doctor Burdi's surgery brought me back to life from a living hell?? His assistant Tyler is highly professional and incredibly nice as well. The entire staff at the office are very friendly and courteous. And I would especially thank Pat, the doctor's coordinator, whom is so caring and warm-hearted to answer all questions and make all arrangements related to my surgery and recovering. I highly recommend Doctor Burdi and Tyler to anyone who is still enduring the terrible pain of sciatica. You will undoubtedly be in the best hands with them.

I have been seeing Dr. Burdi for a minimum of 7 years due to my right-sided nerve pain. I canceled my 2015 surgery with him because my mom passes away a few months earlier. I tried many pain management processes with another doctor and my nerve pain just kept getting worse. Dr. Burdi gets to the point and does not sugar-coat what he is telling you. He provided the realistic positives and negatives of back surgery. I sure appreciated his honesty throughout my visits with him. I had back surgery with Dr. Burdi in Nov. of 2022. Dr. Burdi's team was amazing. From office visits, Dr. Waldron's follow-up recovery medical evaluations, and the surgical team at Mission Hospital. Everyone on his team was polite and knowledgeable. This made me feel very comfortable and confident with the procedure. Dr. Burdi made surgical adjustments to my L-5 & S-1, and my nerve pain is now gone. I live a pain-free life. I do things now that I haven't been able to do in years. I do recommend Dr. Burdi.

I am a new patient for Dr Burdi and I looked up his reviews finding one from Jody Reeves. Let's get this straight. She did not like his demeanor so she went to another doctor who screwed up her spine. Now she goes to Dr Burdi who refuses to clean up the mess caused by another doctor. That is a smart man in my opinion. He does have an ego regarding his abilities which I judge as competent. I have an ego in my areas of competence. He has not operated on me yet and I have TOTAL FAITH in the out come MS Reeves probably voted for Biden as Trump's ego wouldn have turned her off. She is batting 100% in picking losers based on egos!!
Excellent pre and post-op care from Dr. Burdi and PA Tyler. In my case, a narrowing of the spinal cord (stenosis) was causing increasing pain. Dr. Burdi performed a "Lumbar Laminectomy, Fusion - Instrumented." He DID NOT rush me toward surgery. We tried all the other less invasive steps first. I decided on the surgical path when those steps did little to help. I'm writing this six weeks into the recovery. No, it's not fun, but I am improving and look forward to an overseas vacation in two months and even greater improvement as the healing process continues.
Dr. Burdi is an egotistical, arrogant, horrible doctor! I had forgotten I had seen him in December of 2018 for neck and back pain and never went back because of the way he treated me. Then I had just been referred to him by his college for sever back pain after 3 failed lumbar/sacral fusion with a screw sticking out of my back and had completely forgotten I had seen him before until he walked in the room and treated with the same complete distain and contempt as before. He told me there was nothing wrong with my back, even though I am in severe pain with A SCREW STICKING OUT OF MY BACK! He told me he would not treat me. Period! Not that I would ever let him near my spine or any other part of my body for that matter! So beware of this horrible doctor and get a second opinion from another doctor before you believe a word he says!

If it were possible to give zero stars, that's what I'd give Michael Burdi. He comes in late like most doctors do. Then he makes you feel rushed during the appointment. He is not a personable individual whatsoever. All that I can deal with, but today, i went to his office with severe nerve pain from the side of my neck down to my thumb. I couldn't sleep the night before due to the pain. He refused to prescribe me any pain medication which i so desperately needed. I went home perplexed that a "doctor" could see someone writhing in pain and not treat that person appropriately. Needless to say, I spent another night in agony. A combined 3-4 hours of sleep in a 48 hour period. Entirely unnecessary. The next morning I called and made it clear that my pain was still very intense and not subsiding and i had been up all night again (while he slept cozily in his bed at home). He said he doesn't treat this kind of pain with pain meds?!?! I didn't realize there were different types of pain. I had the type of pain that hurt. I have yet to come across any other kind of pain. This guy is a jerk. He didn't listen to me or respect me and then allowed me to suffer needlessly. Later that day, I called his coordinator Pat and left a message. Instead of returning my call, she responded with an email saying that the "doctor" was sticking with his treatment plan. I called her back and told her they were FIRED! In 47 years, I'd never had an issue with a doctor until this week. Since he was useless I got into another doctor who listened to me and treated my pain appropriately. I'm feeling much better now.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
