List of Sidney Weiss's Reviews
Dr. Weiss should not be working with children! I brought my four-year-old niece here for an eye appointment. Do you know what Dr. Weiss's tactic was upon entering the exam room? He immediately turned off the lights and honked a loud horn to frighten the child (which he did, as well as startled me!). After my niece was sobbing in fright, Dr. Weiss laughed and said, "It gets their attention every time. Now take a seat, young lady!" What a horrible thing to do to children. He was very rough and unprofessional with my niece, showed little care, and I didn't feel comfortable with him at all. AVOID this doctor at all costs, especially for children! Also, I saw one of the other doctors in the practice passing by, and he was a disheveled mess with dirty hands. He reeked and looked like someone who had just wandered off the street. Doctors? I think not...I don't care what your medical degree says. This place is a JOKE!
This office is ridiculous. We entered the office and my 10 year old son forgot his mask and the front desk told me I would have to pay $2 for a mask?????? Are they crazy? My son is your patient, you can provide a mask...considering you are going to charge my PPO Insurance hundreds of dollars for this visit. Completely unprofessional!!!!!!!! We left immediately. We will find a doctor who doesn't profit from their 10 year old patients who forget their mask!
was recommended dr. weiss by my pediatrician. after getting multiple opinions from other eye doctors, dr. weiss was the only one able to correctly diagnose and treat my one year old’s severe eye infection. he has gone above and beyond for me this last week, through last minute doctor appointments, seeing me without an appointment, phone conversations, follow up appointments AND working with my pharmacy on making sure our prescriptions were covered under our insurance. i appreciate everything he has done for my son and will recommend him to friends and family whenever i get a chance to.
Dr. Sidney Weis may be a good doctor but his practice setup to sell you glasses. My appointment was for eyes checkup and glasses prescriptions (my insurance cover ophthalmologist 100% but not a optometrist), I then order my glasses online. However he charge me for the prescription disregarding the FTC rule.Hope this link below will help people with medicare.
This is more a review about Saddleback Eye Associates and less about Dr. Weiss, but i feel it is important people (especially parents of young children) to know how inefficient and impacted the customer service experience is with the front office...Our 1 year old was referred to Saddleback Eye Medical Associates and specifically Dr. Weiss and our experience couldn't have been any worse. When we arrived 15 mins before our appointment we completed the necessary paperwork in time for our appointment and then were told they were running a little behind. 15 minutes turned to 30 and then turned to an hour and then an hour and a half. Mind you we have a 12 month old in a waiting room after recieving a referral to this place from our pediatrician. After our son's name was called we waited 30 minutes in the room and recieved good customer service from the technician, prior to seeing Dr. Weiss.Dr. Weiss is a nice person, but he seemed to have difficulty trying to get our son to do what he needed him to do, but hey that can happen sometimes - so I cannot judge him harshly on that. What upset us even more than the long initial wait was the 10 minute wait that turned into 30 minutes after our son's eyes were dilated. The doctor had specifically said it would be a 10-15 minute wait and then they would follow up to see if his eyes were ready for closer examination and we were escorted to the lobby where we waited over 30 minutes. Meanwhile someone else was put in the room we were supposed to be in. We were LIVID. It seems like this practice is more focused on rotating in as many patients as possible than actual thorough customer service - quantity over quality. When we complained the wait staff mentioned a room was ready but by that time our child was asleep. They gave us the choice to either wake up our child to examine his eyes (when they knew it may impact the test results) or to come back some other time. Needless to say we left and are never coming back. I dont know who makes the decisions on how many patients they are serving at a given time but they are doing a disservice to both the patients and their own doctors trying to fit in as many people as possible. The worst customer service experience I have had in doctor's office and we'll not be going back.
The most wonderful doctor in the world!! He has known us since we were there for our daughters checkup 23 years ago. She was a preemie at 26 weeks. He saw her after her 3 month stay at NICU. Ever since he's been seeing her until age 22. All I have to say is thank you Dr. Weiss for all you've done for our precious girl. We'll never forget you. Love always, the Koceja Family
Dr. Wise did a cataract surgery in 1991. It was a total disaster. He punctured my eye while taking stitches out with his shakey hands. The pupil got frozen. He was quite old then so I wonder if this is the same Sidney Wise.
Fantastic doctor. Great experience. Went in with my 9 yr old today and things could not have gone smoother. Bryan was great and extremely helpful. Dr Weiss was funny, smart and seemed to really care about my sons eyes. I was in and out in 45 mins. Not sure what other people on here experienced but my visit was as good as I could have asked for.
I had Retina Detachment last December and saw Dr. Weiss. This is an urgent condition that needs immediate surgery, otherwise, it can easily lead to blindness. Dr. Weiss’s told me there is nothing to worry about, and that these things blocking my eyesight are “floaters” that happen as people age. He said it can happen to my other eye too. Then he handed me a flyer about “Eye Floaters” and suggested if I like, I can see a retina specialist as well. It took me 4 days after the hemorrhage and retina detachment to see the retina specialist. While waiting, my eyesight was getting worse every day. Retina specialist rushed me to surgery and saved my eye from going blind. I am still surprised how a doctor in his age and with the amount of experience he has, was not able to diagnose this urgent and dangerous condition!! Very disappointing!
Best eye doctor I've found in Orange County. Highly recommend!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
