The staff wasn’t friendly at all. Sorry to say they all looked like they were not very happy. My appointment was for 9:45am and I didn’t get seen until 10:15am. However, the doctor was very friendly, informative, and knowledgeable.

I am updating my review, based on recent appointment January 18, 2023.WOW! A whole different experience from beginning to end. Support Staff was friendly and professional, and I felt very comfortable through the whole exam. I was escorted into the exam room where Dr. Ash goes over what they found in the exam. When Dr. Ash came in, he was holding a printout of my initial Yelp review. I was so blown away with what happened next. He read parts of the review out loud, and we discussed EVERYTHING. He ended up staying for over 45 minutes, and discussing all things optical with me. He was the epitome of a professional, and I left feeling HEARD. It was pretty amazing, actually. Sometimes, we jump to conclusions, and judge an experience unfairly, without having a complete picture of how things TRULY are. Our opinions are powerful, people, and I should have gone a few more times before doing the blame game. I might add that there were some different faces there, and that, in itself, could've given off a different vibe in the office. I will say, I'm glad I went back, and will continue to utilize their services. Our community is lucky to have such a skilled doctor here.

I was misdiagnosed locally for a tumor that was on my optic nerve and causing me to lose my vision in my left eye. Dr. Ash is the only physician in town that took the time to do the tests needed and then recommended that I go to Stanford. Once at Stanford I found out that my breast cancer had returned and had spread to my brain. I had a small tumor on my optic nerve. He saved my life!

He Is one of the best DR i ever seen , i trust him in my live ,i had 2 Cataract by him and both were perfect, God bless him and save him to help others .

Dr. Ash and his team are absolutely amazing!! They make you feel comfortable and step you through everything that is going to happen!!! Truly the best decision I have ever made! So glad I made the decision to go with dr ash and his team!!!

I was very pleased with Dr. Ash and the way the cataract surgery turned out. He is very pleasant and .makes you feel at ease.

Their wait time is absolutely unreasonable. It’s not fair when you make an appointment and you have to wait over an hour just to see a doctor. I get you have a to meet a certain number of patients per day but everyone has a busy life!

Dr. Ash did a great job. His staff is amazing, never had a long wait time. I just had my last post-op check. His office has a great patient waiting area and concerned about your safety regarding Covid

First, and foremost, Dr. Ash is great at what he does. He has his office persona down pat, and not really in a good way. He calculates his time with you, which means he says what he needs to , and then he leaves the room. Not really any time to ask questions. Questions are handled by the surgery scheduler.The low mark is based on his support staff. I've never felt welcome there.I have a Service Dog, who came with me to all visits, except one. On a follow up visit, I was refused entry because of her. It was on my file, and I let them know whenever another appointment was scheduled that I had a Service Dog. She had been with me the firsttime I went. They were extremely rude in refusing to let her in. I later called the office manager to discuss it, and the ADA violation that had occurred.Another reason for the low mark is that your follow-up appointment is the day after surgery. Dr. Ash was excited, all smiles about his handiwork. Then, I was sent to have my eyes examined by their in-house optometrist. In picking out glasses, I asked if they accepted Medi-Cal, and they said yes, and brought out frames that were covered. After choosing frames, I left. Later, I received a call saying the frames were not covered. I checked my benefits, and found MediCARE covered them. Now, you would think their office would know that, since Dr. Ash does a lot of Medicare surgeries. Another trip from Oakdale to order glasses AGAIN. When they came in, I was handed a bag at the counter that held my glasses, cleaner, and wipe. They DID NOT have me try them on at all. The glasses were terrible. I got dizzy every time I put them on. I called NUMEROUS times, I went in at least 4 times asking to recheck everything. They would not take me back to recheck my eyes. All they would say is it takes time to get used to bifocals. Then I was told there was a 3 month warranty and it was over 3 months, so nothing would be done. I HAD AN OPEN CLAIM. I have had to pay for an additional eye test where they said after cataract surgery, you need to wait a month to six weeks for your eyes to heal before getting a new prescription, and sure enough, my prescription is different now. Dr. Ash does have a good reputation as far as his surgical skills, but other than that, I would steer clear of the services offered there. Horrible, arrogant, front office. Truly sad experience

Dr. Ash office were professional and understanding. They called me on a cancellation and treated me asap. So appreciated that I was treated so well. I have switched to see doctor regularly. Thank you
