Instead of reaching out to other retinal specialists in order to compare the look and health of her retina from year to year( one even in his own office) who had recently examined my mothers one remaining good eye, he insisted she see yet another retinal surgeon. Not to mention that the first retinal specialist in his own office that she saw just about 6 weeks ago did not refer her to the retinal surgeon. He left my 75 year old mother terrified that her one good eye may be deteriorating to the point of possibly needing a risky surgery; she was so terrified of going completely blind that she could not drive for an hour after leaving his office! Yes, doctors can have differing opinions, but the only way to see if this condition has been progressing to the point of possibly needing surgery is to compare the images of the retina from year to year. All he did was scare her half to death, but did not do his job properly, which would have been to get the old images, talk to previous specialists and THEN make a recommendation
