List of Ucla Health Montecito Primary & Specialty Care's Reviews
A good friend who has gone there and had only good things to say about the Doctors, that the Dr.'s told him their leaving was due to the high cost of living, i.e. housing in SB! Not the first time I've heard this.
I have had two primary care doctors in less then a year that have left the Montecito UCLA office. Why are the doctors leaving UCLA?
Excellent first visit today with Dr Shafi to establish primary care. Friendly, professional and insightful.
Excellent
Easy to get a hold of, I've had a good experience with Dr. Hughes and the office staff is efficient and courteous.
Switched to UCLA for my primary Dr. Great communication, easy to get in and Dr has been very responsive
Great Doctors but horrible communication problems! If you have a medical problem you have to wait at least 48 hours for a response! If you have been sent to the hospital your doctor may not find out about it for 2 weeks! A prescription can be sent into your pharmacy without any information given to you, and then the pharmacist will tell you he doesn't think this is a medicine you should be taking . It's for an overdose of drugs! There is a disconnect between treatment and information and appropriate follow up. There is also an inappropriate communication system between the parent corporate organization's oversight that causes the interaction between doctor and patient to suffer, sometimes dangerously..
First, its easier to get on the phone with the president than some one at this office. Furthermore, one of my appointments was accidentally canceled and was told to call back to schedule which took 2 HOURS to do and it was for nothing since it was an accident. Second, when I was ill and saw Dr Shafi, he never examined my throat, nose, ears (you know, what a doctor normally does), he just gave me a bunch of tests with no isolation guidelines. He said there was nothing he could do until my results came back. 5 days later, I received a call from the receptionist asking where I had taken my tests LOL. After another 6 hours of waiting, turns out they were all negative and they'd just forgotten to tell me. Then, we I actually had bad case of covid, I tried desperately to reach out to my PCP here (Dr. Hughes) and NEVER GOT A RESPONSE from him! Just an automated message from some rando on what I thought was a confidential line of communication between my doctor and I. Its too bad this place isn't just slightly worse because then I could report them to the BBB but rather, they're just awful. Stay away.
Grateful to have found this group of very talented Doctors and Staff . It is very convenient to have both , Primary and Specialist in the same location. Highly recommended.
The woman who scheduled my appointment could not have been friendlier or more helpful. She is not on site at the Montecito clinic, but she was knowledgeable and willing to book an appointment at a time that worked for me.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
