I've been coming here for 3 years! I love how they remind me about my appointments, a busy mom like me always forgets. But not only that, the work on my teeth is what brings me back too. I've had gum surgery because my gums were not in the best shape.. The results were amazing. I still have more work to do but I'm excited to get it done so that my gums and teeth are healthy and strong. Recommend this place for their work and hospitality. Dr. Gary does amazing work!

Dr. Emerald Turned My Dental “Massacre” into an Orbitz Commercial! I recently had a cleaning with Dr. Emerald at Brushwell Dental Office on Garvey and New Ave in Monterey Park, and wow — what an experience! Let’s just say my mouth was a war zone. She endured the full massacre happening in my feeder hole (months of buildup), but instead of making it uncomfortable, she turned the whole thing into something that felt straight out of an Orbitz commercial. Dr. Emerald is incredibly gentle, patient, and skilled. She worked thoroughly, explained everything with a calm smile, and somehow made even the deep cleaning feel manageable. By the time I left, my teeth and gums felt unbelievably fresh, clean, and minty. I never had to raise my hand once to take a break from her cleaning. The entire Brushwell team is warm and professional, and the office is spotless and welcoming. If you’re nervous about cleanings or have been putting off that “big one,” Dr. Emerald is the dentist you need. She handles the tough work with expertise and kindness, and leaves you grinning with confidence. Thank you, Dr. Emerald! I’m a lifelong patient already. 5 stars all the way — highly, highly recommend!

Been going to this dentistry for years and have always been taken care of. Front desk to back office, everyone is easy to talk to and willing to assist. Rescheduling appointments for any reason couldn’t be any easier. I’ve since moved out of the area and my insurance is not in network for this dentistry, but I will always be coming back to this spot.

Amazing staff members and work ethics

My family and I go out of our way to visit this office, and we look forward to it! I grew up dreading the thought of visiting the dentist because I have very sensitive teeth and have had terrible experiences. Dr. Gary and Dr. Emerald have always been very attentive to my needs and concerns, checking in and adjusting as needed throughout my visit. They also continue to provide the most updated research and tech in the dentist industry. This isn’t your traditional dental office. They are very passionate people who show craftsmanship in their work. Their team is consistently personable, professional, informative and updated on their knowledge and service. We couldn’t recommend them enough. -char

TL;DR: If you hate going to the dentist, do yourself a favor, and go here. I hate the dentist. I mean.. I really hate the dentist. Bad experiences throughout, including but not limited to an infected root canal back in the day -- worst pain of my life! I avoided going at all costs...... Fast forward, experiences here and there with various dentists. Bah humbug. Until now. I've been going to Brushwell for a few years now, this review is LONG overdue. My first visit with them was out of desperation, that infected root canal from my youth? Infected again... pain. Long story short, they turned a nightmare situation into a relatively painless one. It was very complicated but they handled me with exceptional skill and CARE. I cried tears of joy/relief after. Every visit, even regular old cleanings leave me emotional, going here is such a night and day difference to my experiences elsewear. Dr. Emerald, Lianne, and Hali are incredible. I'm sure the others are fine, too, but that trio *cannot* be beat. Dr. Emerald and Dental Assistant Lianne work together like a finely tuned machine.. they are true masters at their craft. Hali is the best with follow ups, scheduling, reminders for my dental avoidant personality. I never understood the concept of a "family" doctor or dentist until Brushwell. I hope the fantastic trio stay put for the rest of my life. 😆

This review is long overdue. My initial visit to Brushwell Dental and Implants was in May 2025. Prior to this visit, I had not been seen by a dentist in a very, very long time. On my initial consultation, I was provided with a comprehensive evaluation. Because I neglected my teeth for so long, Dr. Emerald Khoo, who is a gem, told me she would need to consult with her team to create a personalized treatment plan. On my follow-up visit to Brushwell Dental, Dr. Emerald took the time to explain the treatment plan and options. She was very detailed-oriented, empathetic, and honest. Due to the extensive treatment, we have now hit the one-year mark of my treatment plan which included teeth extractions. I highly recommend Dr. Emerald for teeth removal. I had local anesthesia, so I was awake throughout the process but because Dr. Emerald was so gentle, during the first set of extractions I dozed off and didn't even realize she was done. The second set of teeth extractions also went smoothly, and it was also very painless. There is still more dental work to be done, but so far, the care and overall treatment I have received from Dr. Emerald, her assistant Lianne, and Hailey who always greets you with a smile, have been absolutely great and I highly recommend Brushwell Dental and Implants. Especially for those individuals who are terrified of dentist or had a bad experience with dental work, I can assure you that Dr. Emerald Khoo is someone you can trust.

This review has been long overdue! I’ve been coming here for years for my routine cleanings with Dr. Emerald and occasionally Dr. Gary. I also completed my Invisalign treatment with Dr. Casey a few years ago. Every experience has been positive from start to finish. All of the front office girlies are so friendly, welcoming, and organized, which makes such a difference the moment you walk in. The office itself is bright, clean, and inviting. I’ve always had anxiety about going to the dentist, even just for cleanings, but everyone here makes the experience feel much less daunting and more comfortable. What I appreciate most is that I never feel like just another patient. The doctors and staff genuinely take their time with me, answer my questions thoroughly, and I never feel rushed during appointments. You can tell they truly care about their patients and the quality of care they provide. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a dental office with both great care and a warm atmosphere!
