List of Anders Karl Dahlstrom Md's Reviews
When my son was nearly a year old he had blood in his stool various times. I took him in to see Dr. Dahlstrom. He asked a lot of questions and did a great job in listening. In no time he was able to figure out that my son had food allergies and that I needed to watch what I ate- as I was breastfeeding at the time. I would want him to care over my relatives and family members.
We have had a wonderful experience with Dr. Dahlstrom under the circumstances. My instincts told me my son was a Celiac and, luckily, my pediatrician did the blood test. My son doesn't look like a typical Celiac, but he was having weird symptoms that, when I did some research, aligned with Celiac disease. His blood test came back positive and he was referred to Dr. Dahlstrom. He is a very nice doctor and very knowledgeable. My son had an endoscopy and everything went well. Dr. Dahlstrom called me to confirm the diagnosis based on the biopsy. He was very helpful and knowledgeable. I recommend him as a specialist!
My daughter was in n out of the hospital for about 3 weeks with abdominal pain. Her doctors office would give her medicine for acid reflux. Until I finally asked for her to be referred to a specialist. Less than a week after seen Dr. Dahlstrom he had a diagnosis. H pylori, his staff was awesome. When I called his office they had told me that it was going to be a month before he could see hercant recall his personal secretary but thanks to her she was able to schedule my daughter within days
This man knows his stuff. He saved my daughters life. What CHOMP and a team of doctors couldn't figure out in a week he figured out in a visit. He is knowledgable and cares. Takes time to listen and has tons of experience other don't.
Dr. Dahlstrom saved my sons life! In Nov.2011 my son (18mo. old then) had chronic diarrhea for weeks. His pediatrician kept saying "it will go away just keep him on the B.R.A.T. diet." It wasn't going away 3 weeks into this. We took him to ER at CHOMP on a Friday evening, they sent us home saying "call a gastro doctor the following Tuesday" because that Monday was a gov.holiday. I was furious because another health provider wasn't taken my baby's health serious. A few hours later we took him back to CHOMP and I demanded that they admit him so that we could find answers. They paged Dr. Dahlstrom to come in. He immediatly took over my son's case. It was a bit of a long road back to health with an extended stay at CHOMP for a week to a full blood transfusion at Stanford's Children's Hospital along the way. But through it all Dr. Dahlstrom was with us for each step and called every connection he had to help us get answers and get my son back to good health. My son turned out to be intolerant to nearly every food that wasn't meat or fruit and his blood cells were dining and not regenerating at the speed they should have been rebuilding. Because Dr. Dahlstrom took my concerns seriously and his determination to get answers for my son to return to good health, my son is alive. Thank you Dr. Dahlstrom!
Dr. Dahlstrom may be a good doctor, but he is so overbooked that it affects the care of his patients. He is only available 3 days a week, and does not have any doctor on-call for emergencies. His front staff is unhelpful, if not argumentative. Dr. Dahlstrom should have another doctor on-call because it is unprofessional to leave a child in pain for days at a time. It is also unprofessional not to call back a child's pediatrician when a child is in crisis.
I am so happy we finally took our baby to see Dr. Dahlstrom. He has been such a huge help in helping top make our son feel more comfortable. He always takes his time during our office visits and makes sure to anser all of our questions. I find his staff to be very helpful and our experience at the office is always pleasant. If your child is needing a GI specialist I would highle recommed Dr. Dahlstrom.
For the past two years, Dr. Dahlstrom and his staff have helped me more than any of my daughters Doctors. We first met him the day my daughter was born and he visited her until she was discharged from the hospital. Our follow up appointments have always been excellent, he always followed up on her meds/dosages and gave us many other recommendations and trials, as well as samples of her prescription formulas. Not only did he treat my daughter for GI issues, he was the only Dr., who actually listened to our concerns and found an airway defect..then referring her to the proper doctors. His office staff has always been professional and both of my little girls love to visit them, Stephanie even took it upon herself to get our prescription formula ordered for us after our insurance denied it. Lifesaver!! My daughter has a rare auto-immune disease and is now treated at a children's hospital, but we still follow up with Dr. Dahlstrom every few months as I trust him more than any other Dr., that she has had. At a stressful and scary time with a new baby it's nice to have a Dr. who personally calls you to check up on her..I couldn't be more pleased and highly recommend him!
I had a horrible experience with this office. My son's pediatrician referred us to Dr. Dahlstrom. A couple days later, they called on my cell phone to set up an appointment. We got there and the doctor talked to me for a half hour about my son's condition, didn't address my son, and didn't examine him. He gave us an over-the-counter prescription and told us to come back in 6 weeks. That was fine. I expected my son would be examined next time.We made the appointment for 6 weeks out and I asked if they make reminder calls. The receptionist said, "Yes."Six weeks later, I got a call that we had missed our appointment and would be charged a late fee. Even if they didn't make the reminder call, I know it's my responsibility, but I asked if they would please waive the fee since it was the first time and I had expected a reminder call. The girl said no. They would not waive the fee and said they had called me. I did not receive the call or a message, but she insisted that they had called and it was my responsibility to make the appointment regardless of whether they called or not. It turns out they had a different number on file for me. I do not understand how that happened since they had called me for the first appointment and called me to notify me of the no show fee.Later, I received a bill. I called the office to pay the bill. The receptionist said that I needed to call the billing office to pay it, but wouldn't give me the number. I was out so I didn't have the actual bill with me. The receptionist insisted that I needed to refer to my bill to get the number. So, I waited until I got home, called the billing office, and payed the bill.A month later, I received a bill for the same visit and late charge. I called the billing office to sort it out and they have no record of my payment even though it is on my bank statement. I payed the full balance a month before. It turns out, when someone calls the billing office to pay a bill, they fax the information to the doctor's office to process the transaction? I'm not surprised they messed that one up. I have yet to hear if they have sorted this payment issue out.Unfortunately, now we have to find another doctor for my son. Dr. Dahlstrom's reception is unorganized and unwilling to help patients. If you want a smooth doctor's visit in your busy life where you have to juggle many different things, find another doctor.
Each visit was delayed. At the first appointment we waited in the room for 90 minutes with a screaming colicky baby. Both Dr. Dahlstrom and Dr. Ani Hanna had a real hard time accepting my child's allergy diagnose from the allergist. Dr. Ani Hanna prescribed a formula with milk in it after promising us that there were no milk products in the formula. Next few weeks were stressful and our baby kept losing weight. Dr. Dahlstrom would not answer our calls. Very upsetting experience.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
