List of Community Hospital Of The Monterey Peninsula's Reviews
It has taken 5 hours to “clean” a room I was suppose to go to after the surgery recovery room. Shameful administration.. At least the nursing staff is high quality
I was born here and this place has kept me alive (seriously). They have expanded into many subgroups and are tied into the community. They actually care more about YOU than what kind of insurance you are carrying. In Monterey County there are three major hospitals. If you can or had to choose… THIS is where you want to be cared for. Staff is always amazing, Stanford grad level medical professionals. Helping from everything from the flu to mental illness to the pandemic. You won’t find better care than at CHOMP.
My Mother was taken to CHOMP ER by ambulance this past Valentines Day. I was in the room and was quietly waiting when I asked the nurse if I could have my husband visit with me. She said that would be fine. Upon going outside and retrieving my husband one of the Tech staff (man) yelled at me and grabbed my jacket pulling me back with violent force. Since then the Head of Security has called me after viewing video footage and was extremely apologetic. However, after being traumatized by this incident I never want to step foot in this ER again.
Definitely not the same friendly environment hospitality that it used to be 20 years ago...
Had a terrible experience at CHOMP this past Valentines Day when my Mother who is elderly had fallen and was taken to CHOMP ER via ambulance. While visiting her in her room she revealed she had been walking "downstairs" in the middle of the night for a snack. Finding out she was doing this and knowing this is extremely risky and dangerous (because of concern and warnings about her activity from myself and Dr.'s) I replied in a surprised manner "You've been going downstairs for a snack?" An ER nurse in the room frowned and snarled in a condescending tone "You aren't hungry at night? You don't get up in the middle of the night for a snack?!" Shocked and mortified with the belligerence and rudeness I remained silent as did the attending Dr. in the room that witnessed the mean/sharp tone coming from individual. Spending hours upon hours with my Mother in the ER and multiple Dr.'s appointments I deserve better treatment than this.
I gave birth to twins 41 yrs ago this march and I had an amazing birth of twins well taken care of the hole time thank you another time my baby now 30 at the time was 2 yrs old had a penny stuck in his throat they put I've in his little arm very very well taken care of great full thxs
Definitely not the friendly hospitality environment it used to be 20 years ago really gone downhill...
In my experience going to the ER at Chomp, I was satisfied with the treatment. I have upper respiratory infection. Went to Salinas memorial hospital ER several times and still felt awful. At chomp ER I was seen right away and the doctor seemed to be sharp at fixing my problem. The medical assistant taught me how to use the bronchial inhaler that would help me relieve my cough. It is working slowly. Salinas memorial ER gave me the inhaler, but didn't teach me how to use it. Inhaler cost an arm and a leg!
this hospital is not a good hospital I have someone thier that is sick that person said that they give patients water from sink not from portable so if you have a love one that goes thier go and see this why people die in the hospital for not taking care of the patients in good hands some of the nurse don't care even doctor they want the money that's all they don't have good heart becareful
The nutrition services department gives you the impression that being illiterate is a requisite to working here. Getting your meals as ordered is like pulling teeth. Just the most incompetent people I've ever come across.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
