He is the worst doctor I have ever been to. It was a horrible experience. He does not listen, does not ask questions, makes false assumptions, prescribes meds I don't need and will never take, refuses to order tests I requested, such as a mammogram after the Mammography Center called me to schedule, or a lab test I needed.

I only had him as my PCP for under a year and I wish it was longer. We unfortunately had to move. Dr. Meckel was soft spoken, attentive, assertive when necessary, and invested in my health. I was grateful to be under his care for the time I was. Any patient would be lucky to have him overseeing his care. I wish I was still in the area.

My husband had a virtual appointment with Dr. Meckel (not his regular doctor). My husband had tested positive for Covid. He is 70 and has Parkinson's disease. Dr. Meckel was very reassuring that he would be fine (his symptoms were mild), but did prescribe a medication that would keep him out of the hospital. His is a very caring doctor and easy to talk to. My husband is considering changing doctors!

I recently lost my general practioner when she shut down her Monterey practice. I thought of her as a friend, as well as a gifted physician. Replacing her wasn’t easy. I had just undergone major surgery, and desperately needed a new G.P. upon my release from the hospital. Luckily, I found Dr. Meckel just in time. My previous doctor had welcomed my equal input in my medical care, and Dr. Meckel proved to be the perfect fit. He values my input and encourages me to work with him to find solutions. Last week, for example, I experienced a serious crisis. Although it was impossible for Dr. Meckel to meet with me every day, we communicated daily as he guided me through a very difficult transition. I’m grateful to Dr. Meckel for his caring bedside manner, as well as for his medical expertise. I’m happy to be his patient!

I recommend Dr. Jon-Peter Meckel to everyone! I've seen a number of PCP throughout my life and none have been as exceptional like Dr. Meckel. I am lucky to be under his care. :)
