List of Kearnan Adam Welch's Reviews
Dr. Welch did not seem to understand the correlation between thyroglobulin levels and adjustments in thyroid replacement therapy (Synthroid) dosages. This is problematic for a cancer patient. He also became despondent and defensive when I asked whose responsibility it was to inform me of my cancer stage post op. My surgeon had failed to educate me on this not so minor detail and I was just curious as to who was supposed to share this information with me, my surgeon or my endocrinologist. I definitely would not recommend Dr. Welch for thyroid related issues, especially thyroid cancer. Like many endocrinologists, Dr. Welch seems to be better suited for diabetes care based on his other patient reviews. If you are seeking an endocrinologist for thyroid related matters, I strongly recommend that you keep looking.
Dr Welch is my guardian Angel. I have been in and out of the hospital since September 20, 2021 with major health issues. Dr. Welch stepped in put together a team and I’m on the road to recovery and regaining back my life. He listens to what you have to say and will consult with endocrinologists in other areas of the country and state and put together a game plan to bring your Health back to where it should be. He has excellent bedside manners he is sincerely concerned about his patients welfare and health and listens to his patients. I have recommended him to numerous friends as they were so impressed with his patient care. If you’re looking for an endocrinologist he is the doctor you want to work with he is knowledgeable and you will see results.
I've had three appointments with Dr. Welch DO thus far, I have found him to be very kind, understanding and patient. I've enjoyed working with him and together our efforts have achieved a stable and healthy glucose level. He is easy to make appointments with and quickly responds to any email question or concerns. I'm happy
I found Dr Welch to be fully engaged and helpful with my particular needs.
Dr. Welch is by far the most competent endocrinologist I've ever visited. This is from a patient who has a 20+ year history of diabetes. He always listens to everything I say, and allows me to participate in treatment decisions. He is encouraging, easy to talk to, always upbeat, and even remembers personal things his patients tell him, even after 3 months (like bringing up my daughter-in-law's pregnancy and caringly asked me how it was going). He is so very helpful and almost always answers MyChart questions himself rather than pass them off to staff. Very highly recommended!
Dr. Welch did not seem to understand the impact of thyroid hormone replacement on thyroglobulin levels. This is a very big problem for someone with thyroid cancer. He also became defensive and despondent when I questioned whose responsibility it was to educate me on my cancer level post op. My surgeon failed to share this information with me and I was simply curious as a cancer patient as to who was supposed to provide me with this critical information. Dr. Welch said it was an inappropriate question. Huh? Please follow my advice and run don't walk away from the UCD Davis Health System.
Dr. Welch is a great doctor! He has been my doctor for the past seven months and he’s treating me with TRT. He is very knowledgeable and very good listener and he always responded to my chart whenever I sent a message to him. He really cares about his patients. Whenever I have an appointment with him he took his time to listen and discuss my problems. I did not feel rushed. At the beginning of my treatment I was always frustrated because I did not know about my treatment. But he always answers my questions and provided me the right dosage of medicines. He helped me to feel better. He also help me with my insurance to cover my medicines. I would definitely recommend him to my family and friends.
Dr. Welch was my resident physician in Ventura CA before he moved to further education at UC Davis. I miss him every month that I go to my doctor of @ 15 years. He listened and helped encourage me to be more proactive with my diabetes. I always felt that he was fully present with me and took the time needed to cover all issues. I wish he were back in my area, he would be my doctor still! I love my existing doctor but he is in teaching mode and I see a new resident every month and miss having someone who remembers my name let alone why I am there. I am considering if he can do telehealth with me.
Dr. Welch is my endocrinologist and he've done nothing but a FANTASTIC JOB. He's friendly and easy to communicate with. He always communicate through MYCHART and responds in timely manner. He explains and makes sure I understand every steps that we take in my cancer journey. Very professional and friendly.
Dr. Welch tried to attribute my increased thyroglobulin level to an increase in cancer risk and not to the fact that he had recently changed my thyroid med dosage. I had to consult with another specialist to confirm that my meds adjustment had led to changes in my thyroglobulin level. Dr. Welch may end up being a decent endocrinologist but right now he's a wet-behind-the-ears resident who definitely needs more training.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
