List of Lisa Ramirez Kroopf's Reviews
To whom it may concern, I had a trigger point injection performed on my neck by Dr. Kroopf yesterday. This was the most painful and uncomfortable experience that I've ever had with a doctor and it was shrugged off and even laughed at by herself and the assistant staff. After refusing to prescribe me ANY pain medication for relief and giving me this only option I felt that I had no choice but to move forward with it and trust the doctor's knowledge. I don't feel that my expressed pain level or long history with this issue was validated and false hope was given once again. I am now months if not years set back even further as a result due to physical and neurological symptoms and side effects brought on because of this. She was extremely rough during the manipulation after the initial procedure and minimized my clear, verbal agony as the pain radiated into my head. My chronic herniated disk pain and now reoccurring post concussive syndrome which took me many years to get over are now back in full force. I am disgusted to say the least and in no way trusting this doctor anymore. I will not be moving forward with any further treatment and will be back to the drawing board searching for a provider who hears me, cares about my future and well being, and doesn't give false hope/poor recommendations regarding the most sensitive and crippling issue of my life. I hope that nobody else has to go through this. There is no excuse.
Dr Kroopf is very knowledgeable, patient and proactive in her care for patients. She is cutting edge in the procedures she offers, focusing on health and wellness first and providing minimally invasive options to help her patients. She is very direct and to the point so you know where you stand and what is needed to make an informed decision.
Very happy with my first appointment. Dr. Kroopf is knowledgeable, efficient, on the ball and makes you feel like you are in good hands from the moment you meet her. I’m very glad to be referred to her practice.
I am so grateful to Dr. Kroopf and her staff for the amazing care and treatment that I have received. Dr. Kroopf is so kind and caring. Her staff is also great, very professional and helpful. I'm very confident in Dr. Kroopf and I highly recommend her.
My appointment was very rushed she did not spend a lot of time with me or go over all of my records/imaging reports that I brought. I had more questions and she was trying to walk out the door while answering them. She did not feel like she could help me, but offered patches she told me nothing about and the assistant said to think of them like an "investment" because insurance doesn't cover them which was unsettling to me. I did not have a good experience with this doctor. I wish more doctors actually cared about the patients who pay good money and arrange for child care etc. to come to these appointments just to be spent maybe 5 minutes with.
Dr. Kroopf provided a great patient experience. Her staff is very helpful and efficient. Grateful experience overall.
I would like to thank Dr.Kroopf for the amazing care and pain relief that she gave me. I would highly recommend her.
Dr Kroopf doesn’t care about patients only money it’s glaring. Don’t pay attention to these other reviews because you’re pretty much forced to write a good review after the first visit. You walk up to the office you can hear private conversations with patients as windows are left open near the walkway. I was receiving injections for my neck also have an unstable shoulder that weren’t working and causing me more discomfort and neck pain I was receiving them from about march until june when she switched me to paid medication then also switching me to her nurse practitioner. Shelby’s so neglectful she once prescribed me a medication i told her made me not feel well, her memory is terrible she forgets visits we had and entire discussions. They will forget about filling your medications or fill them limited, up and down dosages with no information, and you’re expected to have a doctors visit for every prescription which is only a week or two supply if that and no refills. I was taking pain medications as prescribed and every UDT would come up negative. One time almost a week later they call me down for a signature and don’t say what it’s for, it’s my urine that hasn’t even been sent off yet. Two weeks for a urine analysis? I’m a county healthcare worker and the malpractice here is at levels i’ve never seen I’ve been a caretaker basically since my early teens. They’re constantly pressuring to buy their supplements $120 a month and pay for a $20 machine to test your hand levels for nutrition and antioxidants? They will not time your medication correctly and leave you without meds for days and even weeks and they’ll still make you feel bad for it. I was finally told I need a cervical epidural injection for a herniated disc now i’m not a doctor but when the doctor says “ If you don’t get this done it’s gonna get worse. “ that gives me the impression this is going to fix my neck and was 100% on board. My fiancé suggest I do more research on the procedure and it does not fix your herniated disc. After I already cancelled due to a IHSS hearing was planning to reschedule the procedure after I talked to Dr Kroopf about some of my concerns I read but apparently in the nasty note she left today she had addressed all my concerns that’s a lie. I paid the fee. Then I messaged klara about a medication refill today, because my last appointment i was prescribed 5 days worth of medication at the last appointment and my next appointment wasn’t until 3 weeks later because Shelby the nurse practitioner who I was told by a call from Dr Kroopf after hours I wouldn’t see anymore only Kroopf exclusively in which she also asked me to delete my previous google review that’s very unethical, unprofessional, and maybe illegal. Got a call from someone yesterday who was rude and angry at me saying i’m being discharged from the practice because i was non compliant? I don’t understand how Dr Kroopf said I refused the procedure that is a lie I told the staff multiple times I have more questions but they don’t care or convey information properly. I also have all the klara message screenshots to prove it. Don’t even get me started on klara it will take days to get a response if they even do. She said I refused physical therapy which is another lie, I literally have been in so much pain it’s not safe for me to drive because i can’t turn my neck. Finally I’m getting range of motion with the new medication and call Bay Physical last week to make an appointment and they tried calling the doctor because the referral they sent wasn't filled out correctly they tried calling no answer. It’s clear in her note she is VERY angry I cancelled my injection but saying i refused is an outright lie. I have a pet peeve for liars. Now Im being discharged from the practice based on lies, negligence, and bad communication. Update: I was returned the cancellation fee at least and given a last 30 day supply of meds. Wasted so much time, money, hours from work going there every week and then at the end you give me a 30 day supply? What a joke.
It’s been 2 years since I was given Dr Kroopf’s name as a Doctor who might help me come back to life…. Literally. I had spent 3 days in the local ICU without a ‘single cell in my body functioning properly’ as explained by my Primary Physician. I am blessed with incredible luck. There wasn’t a Nurse, Doctor, or Healthcare Professional who didn’t greet me in the 6 months after I was released from the Hospital with some version of ‘Can’t believe I’m talking with you’. Some had questions. There were few answers. Sodium levels below the danger zone. 8 IVs. Pic Lines installed in the hallway. Blood taken every hour. My wonderful nurse danced around when my sodium levels reversed and then improved. So at the point that I committed to rely on Dr Kroopf for care I started to turn back to life from a suspended state. She has been nothing short of a miracle worker. At one point we (partner and I) planned to move to Portland OR. I planned to find new Doctors and specialists to replace the team (9 professionals with 100’s of years of experience dealing with extreme trauma). I have been fortunate to find these exceptionally competent and kind & loving folks through referrals here in Monterey and Salinas. The exception was Dr Kroopf. I would have flown to Monterey to continue care with Dr Kroopf. She has opened a lot of doors for me using techniques and/or resources appropriate to my condition at the time of procedure. Perfect every step of the way. The number of procedures I’ve had under Dr Kroopf’s care is well above 50. My file at the local Surgery Center is now three jam packed folders. 100’s of. pages of notes. We’ve injected steroids, Botox, done PRP and a series of treatments where having explained as well I could exactly what was going on in my skin I simply trusted Dr Kroopf with the procedure We put electrical nodes on nerves. (@mild). We did antioxidant testing and treatment. She set me up with an effective (and affordable) StemCell treatment (if you’re interested in noninvasive StemCell treatments that are effective and affordable shoot me text/email or better yet schedule a consultation with Dr Kroopf’s office.) Determined to get well it was easy to follow directions and not claim diagnosis and treatment knowledge gained from using Google search.. sooo…. again. I mean it! She’s a miracle worker. I’ve been onstage performing with my band (at 70 years old) over 60 times in the past year. Even put myself in the ER for an afternoon after a high speed mountain bike crash. Dr Kroopf’s carefully developed and expertly executed plan has my life on an upward trajectory and we are very grateful to whatever powers conspired to put me in her hands. The trust I have in Dr Kroopf extends to her entire office. There’s not a single person there who isn’t committed to the finest care for all their patients. Thanks very much!
After several weeks of extreme lower back pain I was diagnosed with acute fractures in my L4 vertebrae. I was referred to Dr. Kroopf for where she suggested that I undergo a kyphoplasty procedure. After a few days of discussion with my GP and a 2nd opinion I agreed to the procedure. It helped immediately. All lower back and leg pains were gone as soon as anesthetics wore off and I continue to be pain free in that area two months later. At all times Dr. Kroopf, her staff, and all of the nurses at the Monterey Surgery Center were professional, caring and most kind. All of my questions before and after the procedure were completely answered. I am so thankful to all for helping me to get rid of that pain.
