Peter Gerbino's Online Review Report Card

Dr Gerbino performed a rotor cup repair and tendon repair. He originally was my "second opinion", but quickly became my choice as a surgeon. He is the consummate perfectionist and professional and displays a true passion for his work. He is a man of few words...his singular focus is on the outcome of his work. Our family is grateful to be working with Dr. Gerbino. His expertise and guidance is assisting us in addressing an ongoing ankle issue. We had been trying to determine the cause of the issue for some time, and we are happy to finally get a clear answer! We appreciate Dr. Gerbino's demeanor and straightforward approach.Additionally, the office staff has been both accommodating and friendly.

Dr. Gerbino "repaired" my meniscus, but after 21 months, I was still in terrible pain and can barely walk or bend my knee even with constant physical therapy. I came back to his office about a year post op complaining of pain/lack of mobility/swelling and he was really rude and told me I was knock kneed and would have issues for the rest of my life. Recommended a very invasive surgery essentially cutting my thigh bone. He didn't do another MRI or Xray to check if there were any issues, and just gave me a Hyaluronic acid shot, which exacerbated my pain and mobility. I went to another surgeon last month and had to get a 2nd knee surgery- Dr. Gerbino's meniscus repair did not hold, and I had to have 50% of my meniscus taken out because of it. He also left some cysts as compared to my first MRI to the new. He also left a full suture in me as well. As a military member, being able to move and exercise is part of my job, I was unable to do that for almost 2 years. I would not recommend him at all. I've been contemplating reporting him to the board. I would avoid going to Dr. Gerbino at all costs.

Last May, I had a cycling accident that resulted in a femoral fracture. Dr. Gerbino, who had previously and successfully treated me for a knee injury, was my surgeon. The procedure required three pieces of hardware, to reset and secure the damaged bone. It was all accomplished, with two small incisions....I was amazed. The entire process, damage assessment, surgery,, consultations, prescriptive physical therapy and follow up, was all very professional and courteous. The Doctor’s practice, clearly highlights the interests of those patients, anxious to resume an active lifestyle. I would highly recommend Dr. Peter Gerbino.

My wife broke her upper right arm, x-rays showed top of humerus shattered. X-ray review by doctor, told her to wear a sling. One week later said no sling necessary although two weeks after that no improvement. Went to Dr. Kasim Who said she would’ve operated immediately. Five days after that and over six weeks since seeing Gerbino She’s in recovery from Reverse total shoulder replacement. Estimated severe pain time three days. I couldn’t give zero stars

I might have seen this doctor, that was until I encountered his unprofessional front desk staff who began yelling at me over the phone. I literally very nicely asked a question about the referral requirement since my insurance does not require one, didn't argue it, didn't push an issue, nothing, just a question. The girl on the phone couldn't answer and so she put me on hold. Literally about 5 seconds later this woman gets on and begins yelling at me from the moment she picked it up. I will never consider this doctor now. Sorry, I don't do hostile environments! Your staff need to take some professionalism training and I feel sorry for the girl that I originally was talking to because she is being exposed daily to someone who clearly has a personality disorder.

Dr. Gerbino is by far an AMAZING orthopedist. He listens to you, looks for the clues that other doctors may have ignored, and is has a lot of experience, especially with athletes. He found a solution to a problem, that I was combating for a little less than a year, in a matter of minutes. Would 10/10 recommend.
