Great Doctor...!

My 85 yr old mom went to emergency with chest, back pain. They did all related to heart issue but ruled it muscle pain. Two days later they called for her to go back to do a CAT SCAN because they found a module in the X-ray done when she came in and Dr brown would like to get the cat scan done ASAP. We got there waited 2 hours. Dr Kim was now on call. He says sorry this isn’t urgent you have to make an appointment to do the cat scan. It has nothing to do with the reason she came in. The charge nurse was so upset because they called my mom in to get it done right away and Kim was adamant it wasn’t an “emergency”. The kicker....we got home at 5 pm and ten minutes got a call giving me the appointment for tomorrow morning at 8:30 am!!!! Really. Kim just didn’t want to handle the work because it was the Dr before him that called for my mom to come in and he didn’t want to be stuck with it. My mom sat for 2 hours in a waiting room exposed to chance of getting covid19 for nothing and now has to go back tomorrow at 8:30 am!! The charge nurse was so upset at the situation.

I had a bad experience with Dr. Kim's office and want to share my experience. I am a regular patient with Dr. Kim. I tried to make an appointment for emergency care since I have a blur vision.The receptionist told me the earliest appointment I can see Dr. Kim was three months later even though I explained my situation. Very disappointed and I am not sure why I need this dr.'s care when I am not be able to see for emergency care. I hope my experience with office receptionist get Dr.s attention for better care of his own patient.

Needed to get my pain medication refilled due to my primary Dr being on vacation and unable to, so I went to the ER at ST Josephs, saw him within 45 min, took a look at my old script and filled me for half (30/60) to keep me going until my main Dr was back. Was a brief and non emergency visit but I got the impression he was indifferent to the issues and annoyed. Overall I got what I needed, but if this was a different issue where I needed more serious help, I would want another Dr.

I was at emergency at St.Joseph, waiting for 3 hours as my family doctor as well as my audiologist insisted urgent care within 24 hours(I won't explain it here, but it is serious...). Dr.Kim was not in a good mood I when I went in. He dismissed me in 2 minutes saying urgent care is not necessary: He just looked into my ears and that was all. I am visiting another emergency room today as I need to get f-MRI asap, according to my family doctor & audiologist who examined me very thoroughly. Dr.Kim said I should see an ENT within a week, however, and said that he would make an urgent referral for that. Since I expressed my distrust to his judgement, he became upset & unhappy. He even said "It's just an audiologist saying this" One day later, I called to make "the urgent appointment" with the ENT that Kim suggested, but the nurse said that Kim changed the situation from urgent to not urgent(!!). Avoid him if you can ---I know it's hard to avoid when you are in ER.
