List of Shani Francis's Reviews
Dr. Francis is one of the best dermatologist I have seen in a long time. She listens, she’s thorough, and has great suggestions. She’s easy to talk to while remaining professional. Highly recommend her!
If I could give zero stars I would. I have been trying to get a dermatology appointment for close to a year for a simple rash on my leg that can be painful when irritated by chemicals such as chlorine, and between insurance issues, i.e. local dermatologist not accepting my insurance, referral not lasting long enough for appointment availability (months out!), and a host of other issues. I finally was able to work with my insurance company to switch to another doctor and made an appointment (which was still about 2 months out). My first appointment was cancelled because the dermatologist retired or left and I rescheduled with Dr. Bolante. When I rescheduled the appointment the scheduler told me it was at 9:40. Today when I got to the appointment at 9:40 Dr. Bollante refused to see me because they said my appointment was at 9:30. I explained that I have been waiting for close to a year to be seen for a simple rash on my leg and that the scheduler told me the appointment was at 9:40 she still wouldn't see me. I left in tears because this whole experience has been completely awful. I do want to thank the nice receptionist for trying and I know my insurance issues have nothing to do with the office. That being said, I will never, ever go back to CA Skin Institute and most especially to Dr. Bolante. It would have taken her 5 minutes to look at my leg and prescribe something. As it is, I have a rash that will most likely be a permanent scar now. I have gone to my primary doctor already and she prescribed some cream but it didn't resolve itself so she referred me out to the dermatologist.
If I have to choose between an excellent doctor with no bedside manner and a mediocre doctor with fabulous bedside manner, I will always choose the excellent doctor. However, Dr. Bolante's bedside manner is so poor that I can't tell if she's beyond mediocre. She won't respond to questions during a routine check-up ("To answer that would require another appointment.") and she took a biopsy of a spot on my nose that left a noticeable scar. The reception desk is equally poor. This office is out to make money and it shows in their interactions. Ex: They overcharged my co-pay on my last visit. They require that a credit card be kept on file so they don't have to get you to approve their bill, prior to payment.
She is great, funny and listens. She took very good care of me. I want to keep her for my doctor.
She addressed all my concerns and was a delight to be around
Friendly, professional and knowledgeable
Very nice office / girls in office greeted with a smile. dr.francin was very professional and her personality still made you feel comfortable.
Amazing experience!! I’m so glad I received her consultation!!
Extremely knowledgeable!! Highly recommend her services!!
I took my niece to see Dr Francis. My niece has Autism and Dr Francis was wonderful with her. She took the time to explain to both of us, was very informative, went over my nieces options. I was so impressed with her that I called and made an appointment for my self with Dr Francis. She make us feel so comfortable and was very knowledgeable on the subject. We loved her.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
