List of Westland House Of Community Hospital's Reviews
My dad had an excellent experience here in February while recovering from a fall. The physical therapists at W.H. are excellent and demonstrated empathy for the patients and loved ones.
Terrible. Unprofessional. My Dad receives care from Hospice of the Central Coast, and he was checked into Westland House for several days. He is in his eighties and has dementia. He is bed-bound and can no longer communicate in words. My Mom arrived to visit him, and the nurse, Jasmine, stopped feeding my Dad and told my Mom, "You feed him, I have to take care of another patient." My Mom refused. She is in her eighties, and has arthritis and other health problems. That's why she can't take care of my Dad! Jasmine walked out, dumped the food tray contents in the trash, and never came back. My Mom went to the front desk, and no one was there. A long time later, my Mom finally got to talk to a manager, and they promised Jasmine wouldn't be assigned my Dad anymore. The next day, my Mom visited my Dad again, and guess who was assigned to my Dad?! Jasmine! Another aspect of this bad experience is that my Mom found that they weren't feeding my Dad enough food, that he lost so much weight, that he was so hungry that he quickly gobbled up the strawberries that my Mom brought him. Every time my Mom visited my Dad, she found they hadn't changed his diaper in a long time, except one time the nurse boasted that they had just given him a "shower" (which they only did because my Dad had a bowel movement that messed up the bed, so they had no choice). This is a terrible place that doesn't treat human beings like human beings. I do not recommend Hospice of the Central Coast to anyone, and I do not recommend Westland House to anyone.
OUTSTANDING STAFF,VARY PROFESSIONAL!!!! FIVE STAR ALL THE WAY. RECOVE FROM COVID FAST
I hope to die there but not soon
I can't say much for this place. My dad was supposed to return home after surgery but due to medicine reactions he was sent to Westland house instead. He wasn't happy with any of the food which resulted in a large weight loss in 2 weeks. Also resulting in a slower recovery. Ten days, no shower, really. A nurse was also not very pleasant. I guess yelling at sick or recovering patients is her thing. No thanks.
I was hesitant about coming to a rehab facility after having back surgery. But glad I chose Westland House. Was very impressed with the facility. It was very homey feeling, everyone was very friendly and helpful in my rehab. If I could have stayed longer I would have. It was like one big family. I would highly recommend this facility. The food was OK but that was because my doctor put me on a diet of sorts, but I made it ok. Meds and food were on time. That is really something that on computer it brings up when the meds to be distributed. No fudging there. Thanks to all the staff for their help.

Excellent dedicated people including my physical therapist last Aaron and my occupational therapist, nurse Jo and my other nurse GaylieI had a right hip replacement and all these people are top drawer Bravo
This is ridiculous, I went to visit my mother and we had it all planned out from the staff to my mom and we called to get in and the receptionist Vanessa said there were no visitors, but the staff 20 minutes earlier said I can visit my mother??? I'm so frustrated wasted so much gas and time coming all the way from Santa Cruz and I am not ok with this.
My sister and I were reluctant to send my mom here (due to covid-19) for rehabilitation of a vertebrae fracture, but we were told what a wonderful place this was. 5 stars and all....Let's just say it wasn't. My mom started vomiting when she got there and was like that for almost 24 hours straight. She had to ask them to send her to CHOMP because she wasn't feeling well. So, they sent her. Turns out she was having a heart attack! Nobody recognized the signs? I don't get it. Weren't they checking her vitals? Some of the nurses were very kind to her, but there were also ones that were rough and rude. They gave her food she wasn't supposed to have because she is diabetic, like...cake, cookies, juice, pancakes...what part of diabetic do they not get? The food looked old and soggy according to my mom. The only great thing here was her Physical Therapist Tony! If I was rating them just for physical therapy I would give them 5 stars. And maybe the fact that it has a beautiful setting and has some nurses that are truly caring.I am saddened that my mother had to go through all of this without the quality of care that a CHOMP facility should provide and was mentioned in other reviews. CHOMP itself was awesome and on top of things!I guess it's just a roll of the dice at Westland House. It's too bad.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
