Thank you for your urgent care
Dr. Schwertscharf is perfectly nice and has always been helpful, but my entire family has left the practice because of Donna. As a twelve year old, she made me cry when "trying" to teach me how to put in contacts. I begged and begged to go to another office until my mom agreed. My dad hasn't been to the eye doctor in five years because he hates dealing with her, and he now has such bad glasses that it's probably unsafe (he is exceptionally stubborn, but it's a testament to how awful Donna is). If they would fire Donna and replace her with someone who knows how to work with kids, I am convinced it would be a more successful office. I am both flabbergasted and amazed that some people are saying positive things about her- Are there two Donnas at the practice, or is she just nasty to children and retired adults?
I love Dr S. He is caring and explains everything. I never feel rushed. Donna is wonderful and always helpful. I would never go anywhere else.
Dr. Schwertscharf is not only a brilliant optometrist but also a kind and dedicated doctor. Donna is incredibly helpful and nice. I've been seeing Dr. Schwertscharf for years and would recommend him absolutely.
The reason for this rating is that I refuse to deal with Donna any longer. She is moody, unfriendly and rude. I have been a patient for many years and each time I had to deal with her, I felt like I was bothering her, she's always too busy. This is a medical practice, not just a place to buy glasses and patients should be treated as such. Too bad because I liked Dr. Schwertscharf but I am going to another OD from now on.
Our family of five has been with this office for the past four years. We have two in glasses and two in contacts. Dr. Schwertscharf knows his stuff and is a Cal grad. (Go Bears!) The Dr. was especially helpful with finding a contact lens that would work for my sensitive farsighted eyes. Donna, the office admin, has been very helpful navigating our constantly changing vision coverage. She always has a full candy bowl for our kids. She is very helpful when we drop in for frame adjustments for our two rambunctious boys. We always share a laugh when we're in the office.
Small office, personable people there. As mentioned by other's, the doctor does a great job with explaining things. Per the comments on Donna, the front desk person. She is a relatively stoic person but she was pretty personable in my opinion when engaged in conversation. I have been in the office two times and both times we ended up joking around/laughing about something. But I can see how if you did not engage her in conversation she may appear otherwise. The doctor was very personable, we talked a bit during the exam where he took the time describing how the eye works/ages, how my eyes were doing, what he found there, etc. We also ended up talking about some tangential things too.I do not think they have the best selection of glasses, but they did have quite a few for a small office. I am sure if you don't find what you want you can work around that.Overall I recommend them.
Really like Dr. Schwertscharf, he is very detail oriented, and does an excellent job explaining his findings and concerns to both myself and our children. Definitely would have given him 4 to 5 stars, however Donna in his front office has a poor attitude. She appears to be in a grumpy mood and this has been fairly prominent over the 5 years we've been going. Dr. Schwertscharf is so good and the primary reason we return. But after a recent visit we found Donna to be so negative that we are considering looking elsewhere.
Donna the receptionist is awesome. They are super friendly with a great vibe. Doctor asked me a lot of great questions before starting actual exam. Very pleased!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
