List of Andrew Roorda's Reviews
I had a colonoscopy done by Dr. Roorda today, and compared with all my other doctors, in the past and the present, he is right up there with 5 stars on Yelp. He is a "doctors doctor". Very kind, and gentle with extremely good medical advice. Because of him, I will live longer. You can't hope for any more than that. He took all the time necessary, to advise me on my medical problem, and explained in very detailed language how to stay healthy. He also has a great crew that works with him in the operating room!
Dr Roorda is calm, patient and an excellent listener. He is an expert in his field and by the end of my visit had clear treatment plan laid out for me. My condition is finally well managed and I cannot thank him enough for this. Doctor Roorda is always detail oriented and takes the time to answer all the questions and concerns without rushing his patients. I enjoy all my visits with him.
Good doctor and good person, he is friendly and cares about his patients. Dr. Roorda explained everything including related research, and provided long term treatment. Assistant is also helpful and friendly.
I have now been one of Dr Roorda's patients for three years. I have had many ups and down with my health but he and his assistant Veronica have always been such a great support. I have never experienced any difficulty getting ahold of them through phone or email. It has always been very easy. Dr Roorda is upfront about his training and that no doctor can possibly know everything. So he has created a team of doctors for me, who all have knowledge in different areas, when he is not sure what the next step would be. He is easy to talk to and shows an interest in his patient's general health, not just the GI-conditions.
nice man but always in a rush, always interrupted , felt I didnt get the attention and time i needed to explain, I was dismissed with different samples to try each time , but my problem was never resolved.
Dr Roorda at lest to me seemed aloof, inattentive and absent minded. I don't think he tries hard enough to listen to your individual symptoms and select individual treatment for you. He likes to do endoscopies and colonoscopies and prescribe pharmaceutical products, simple and profitable I guess. I came to him with symptoms like 'sensation of fullness', heartburn, 'food sits long in stomach'. After initial visit he recommended nothing, except 2 months wait for endoscopy. He based the diagnosis solely on the report and none of the symptoms I mentioned. He prescribed me a PPI drug, which would lower my stomach acid. Well, these days one either has to find a good holistic doctor, or try to help themselves. With caution that self help results may vary since you do need doctor's help. But with doctors being little more than stooges for Big Pharma, what to do? So, I started taking Betaine HCL (thus increasing, not decreasing my stomach acid). Also switched to no-dairy, no-grains keto diet. That alone eliminated heartburn and sensation of fullness. I still get occasional sensation of frothiness on the back of the throat but heartburn is gone. I am still planning to find a good holistic doctor and discuss the problem with them, but meanwhile I am ok.
Dr Roorda listens carefully and works hard to find the causes of symptoms, which are sometimes tricky. He really wants to help his patients and will not give up. He is patient, even when I argue, and tries hard to educate me on the science of medicine while not dismissing my opinions. Dr Roorda took a previous disaster during sedation (with a different doctor) seriously and made sure the anesthesiologist and he created a plan where I was entirely comfortable yet safe. I have complete confidence in him!

I first got an appointment with this dr through Zocdoc. When I had taken the day off, on the day of, the receptionist called me and told me there has been a mix up and rescheduled me for a couple of weeks later. I went in after a couple of weeks and waited more than half an hour in the office and the dr didn’t show up. I told them that I had a meeting that I had to get to. I was so frustrated that I left and got a refund issued for my copay. The receptionist is so incompetent that it took her another 5 mins to issue a refund and had to ask around to figure out how to do it. I definitely do not recommend this dr.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
