Dr. Given is amazing. My surgery was at the wrist, a challenging spot, and yet, she did it with a smile, and no pain for me. The healing has been miraculous. I'm deeply grateful for her skill, manner, and care.
My daughter has been with Dr Katharine Padrez, MD for 3 years and everything has been fine except the last visit 11/25/24 for annual preventative wellness visit. Then around mid January'25 we got a bill for $257, this is a surprising since my daughter did not receive any special care/treatment other than preventative vaccine and urine test. Upon contacting the billing department, were told it was because of the question of irregular menstrual period during the visit. My wife was not allowed to go inside with my daughter during this visit and my daughter confirmed that she asked this question because this doctor asked her if she has any questions. We were not informed before hand that asking 1 simple question would result in very high charge. We have been trying to contact billing dept, Sutter Medical and PALO Alto Medical foundation to resolve this issue but they keep telling me that 1 question from my daughter cause the special billing code that outside the prevention. Last March, they sent another bill if I dont pay this balance, it will go to collections. We are just a regular immigrant family that trying to make a good life here in USA, we dont like to be bothered with collection agency so we paid. Now we decided to change to our new doctor and provider. I just want to share this story so people that reading this story can be more be careful during any visit with this office, nothing more...
Had 2 areas excised today and my word to describe Doctor Given and her Dermatology team - Supreme! Thank you for the excellent patient centered care from start to finish.
Katherine is honest, professional and dedicated to her profession. My experience with her was very positive.
Dr. Padrez has cared for our daughter since birth and we couldn't be happier with her care! She greeted us at the hospital the day after our daughter was born, helped us navigate the newborn days with ease and comfort, and answered every single question we had without ever making us feel rushed. She is warm, energetic, and personal and we recommend her to anyone looking for a top-notch pediatrician!
We love Dr. Padrez, every time we go see her she puts our mind at ease concerning any questions we have about our baby. She gives us so much useful info every time about developmental milestones, what he should be eating, how he should be sleeping, etc. She is the best.
We've been visiting Dr. Padrez with our daughter for 24 months now. We've always felt well taken care off. Her and the rest of the staff are great. Wait times are within what I would expect. The place is clean and friendly. No complaints here
I regret choosing Dr Padrez. She seems always in a rush and is not willing to spend time with the patient. She is impatient. Once the baby was coughing, when she checked our baby, the baby was a bit fussy. She put the stethoscope on the baby's chest for 1 seconds and said everything was OK. I don't think she was really listening but just want to finish the job as soon as possible.
Don't risk your child's health and life long happiness by seeing this pediatrician. Dr Padrez was my daughter's pediatrician for a few weeks, but not any more. My daughter is still being hospitalized right now. At her 2 weeks checkup with dr Padrez, there was a scab on her belly button. Dr Padrez removed it using her fingers, and that caused bleeding and the baby to scream. Later that days back home, the baby cried abnormally for a few times too. When the baby was about four weeks, we took the baby to see dr Padrez again because the baby had been crying all day long and her legs were always curled. Touching the baby's legs would cause her to scream. Dr Padrez told us the baby just had a rough day and sent us back. That evening we had to take the baby to ER because her cry never stopped. What the baby caught was septic arthritis, which was very acute. Septic arthritis is definitely an emergency and requires rapid dignosis and surgery to lower the risk of long term disability. The baby did get surgery else where and now is recovering. Thinking back, many things went wrong because of Dr Padrez. First of all, you dont remove someone's scab! It hurts and causes bleeding. The broken skin is exposed to bacteria infection. That wound by Dr Padrez on my baby's belly button did not heal after about a week. Bacteria infection caused my daughter's septic arthritis. That was the only time my four weeks old had broken skin, yes, by dr Padrez! Also, dr Padrez was so careless and misdiagnosed my daughter as "Just had a rough day". That delayed the proper diagnose for half a day (since that made us going back home thus missed the normal working hours when we could access more medical resources). For septic arthritis, every hour is important to save. I wish there is a way to prove the baby's broken skin by dr Padrez caused the bacteria infection. I would sue Dr Padrez if that can be proven true. Now my newborn has gone through surgery, is stilll hospitalized and has a chance to develop long term disability in the upcoming years. My husband and I have to watch a otherwise perfect baby to grow up with a possibility of long term disability. Dr had chances to reduce this possibility, but she instead made it more likely to happen. What my daughter had is devastating to our family. If I had given to choose again, I would not have taken my daughter tO see dr Padrez... Now everything is too late.
Great doctor! She really cares about babies! I absolutely lover her! She takes time to listen and answer questions. She is a mom as well. I highly recommend this doctor!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
