MIchael Sathy's Online Review Report Card

I met with Dr Sathy for a follow up appointment because my own doctor was not available. I was so very disappointed in the rude, arrogant doctor who complained several times about seeing me. He made the therapist sitting in very uncomfortable with his comments. While the rest of the department is very accommodating & professional, he made me feel very unwelcome. I don't think he realizes that patients like me help pay his salary. In 56 years I have never met any doctor who I needed to write a negative review for. Never going back to this place in the off chance that I may see him again.

I was referred to Dr. Sathy from ER visit due to an injury. On my initial visit he kept thinking out loud on what is a suitable (doing or not doing the surgery). I was so concern because I was not sure what would happen. He decided that the most efficient way is to place the fracture and cast it. He did the traditional paper mache type of a cast for my hand with a help of technician. The main reason for the cast was to stabilize the metal splint (which stuck outside the cast and my hand) then finger was taped to the splint. Then he he bend the splint after the cast was done with my (compound fractured) finger on it. This act sent such an excruciating pain through out my arm and left side of my body that I jumped. He actually told me I numbed you so you are fine. Also the taped part was not very stable to the point I could see the weight of the cast that went all the way to my elbow move my finger. After the numbing went away I was feeling a numbing sensation where my finger was broken. I thought it was normal. I called the next day since the tingling sensation would go away and would hurt for every step i was taking. every time I was moving it would hurt. I called and ask for help; left them a VM. His nurse got back with me and said: "Your medical provider has provided all he could offer." After giving it another day and pain was not going away, I called again and they said you can come in and see the cast technician. Their technician made some adjustments and provided extra pieces to stabilize the broken bone. After the cast was removed, my finger is rotated. He acted like I was making that up during our visit. I requested for an X-Ray and I had to come in for them to read my X-Ray. His PT, DR Dressman brought Dr Sathy in to take a look. He basically tried to dismiss it, but it is too obvious due to the fact that the muscles and the bone are trying to do two different things. So he gave up and looked at me and said "It is your fault" and when I asked what he means, he left the room with smirk. I am left with a finger that cant be bent now. I would avoid him in any cost.

After diagnosing me with something different at every appointment (carpal tunnel, de Quervain’s Syndrome, need surgery, don't need surgery...) he finally said that I needed physical therapy but wouldn't send me to PT because (and I quote!) "You're a fitness instructor...you should know what to do". And with that I was dismissed. I made another appointment with a different ortho and he fixed me up in ONE appointment with some well placed cortizone injections.

I see him on a regular basis when I have a problem with my hands. He did two surgery s for me. Both very successful. I did not notice and dirty nails.

Dr Sathy is not only excellent in his technical ability (repairing my severely impacted fragmented wrist fracture) but he also has a kind and professional manner in dealing with his patients. I was able to be seen and scheduled for surgery in a timely manner. All my questions were addressed. His team in Hand Surgery and Surgicenter PAMF were also kind and professional. I am very grateful for the care received.

We were referred to Dr. Sathy years ago and he has taken care of our daughter's multiple soccer injuries. With a busy schedule, he always manages to squeeze us in and provides excellent healthcare. His office team is also very helpful and seem to really care about each and every patient.

Dr. Sathy's fingernails were really dirty. I couldn't stop focusing on his dirty nails the whole time he was examining my hand. He explained that there was a risk of infection with the procedure I needed. I would not consider going to a surgeon with dirty hands even though he would thoroughly scrub before surgery. In addition, he did not describe what to expect post-op.

In my case i had a better recommended procedure by getting a second opinion. Basically on the second opinion was only 1 surgery required rather than 2 recommended by this Doctor that was rushing me to get it done the same day. He charged me a lot too, very expensive.

Dr. Sathy performed carpal tunnel surgery on my left hand several years ago and the operation was 100% successful. Three weeks ago, he did the same on my right hand. Again, the surgery was 100% successful. I chose to have anesthesia at the PAMF Surgery Center in Mountain View, as opposed to having it done in his office. Everything went well. I am three weeks out and feel great. There has been very minimal pain and/or discomfort. My left hand had to step up for about a week but other than lifting heavy objects, I am almost fully back to my usual routine. I highly recommend Dr. Sathy and his team.
