Samuel Marcus's Online Review Report Card

I was a patient of dr Marcus for over a decade. I overlooked the inefficiency of his staff until this past year when I couldn't even get them to fulfill an IBS prescription for months and left the practice. he is a wonderful and thorough clinician but turnover is extremely high for the admin staff and nurses except for his wife who's a nurse. post COVID, one admin told me they lost their entire staff and she was the only new person who had ever worked in a medical setting before and therefore understood how insurance worked with special prescriptions that require a prior authorization.dr Marcus had prescribed such a med for me. when I ran out of refills, I called the office request refill, I called every few days their office, my pharmacy and my insurance and they all kept not giving me a straight answer. when I finally ran out of the medication, his office offered me to drive 30 mins ea way to his office and pick up samples. they generously gave me free samples but when those ran out I was back to square one calling the office for a refill which is part of the doctors job! after tw/o wks of calling every few days and trying to get at the root of the problem, one new staff person told me Dr Marcus didn't want to deal anymore with prescriptions that required prior authorization bc it was too time consuming for his staff. where did that leave me I asked?! he was the original prescriber of this med and other alternatives had not worked for me and he wasn't suggesting an alternative so I raised my voice in frustration and utter disbelief and asked to speak to a manager. I simply asked her when can I expect to get my prescription refilled?. she said she didn't know and I was welcome to drive an hour and pick up more samples. I asked to speak to dr Marcus at that point and he got on the phone and I was visibly frustrated and he said that he simply could not work with me as a patient any longer, claiming his staff said I had been " abusive". he didn't want to hear my side. he didn't offer an explanation for why I couldn't get the med that he prescribed refilled. I raised my voice but I never called anyone names or swore. I'm still completely dumbfounded , esp after 10 plus yrs as a patient of his.

I had my preventive colonoscopy done and was thoroughly guided in preparation which had a successful result of cleaning the colon. The day of the procedure went very smoothly, wonderful and friendly nurses, anesthesia just right. I woke up soon after the procedure. Dr. Marcus gave me a complete report and advice. Very professional! Highly recommended. 👍

Worst Frontdesk, work staff. They never respond to calls, even if they take a call, they hold the call for 10 mins ( it’s new to me ). They test your patience level till you write a review like this. My experience with this doctor's office is painful. Here everyone including Dr. Marcus cares only about insurance money. Keep going until sued.

Dr Marcus is a very special physician. He does not leave a stone unturned and treats the “whole” patient. Dr Marcus thinks outside the box, is an excellent communicator and is willing to try varied treatments until he is satisfied with the results. Dr Marcus spends a long time listening to his patients and as a result you sometimes need to wait to be seen. Be patient as he is a brilliant doctor .

I had issues with doctor office. After my MRI they rescheduled my appointment twice with interval couple of month :) Doctor called and bring his apology and rescheduled in two weeks. The last appointment was good and helpfull.

Avoid this place at all costs. I would give it 0 stars if I could. My boyfriend was referred here by his primary care physician due to detected stomach bacteria and GI issues. The admin are extremely disorganized. It took a month for my boyfriend to get an appointment. As it got closer, he had to reach out to them 4 times for someone to finally respond and confirm his appointment. They told him they would send a video conference link 10 mins prior to his appt starting. They never sent the link so he had to call the office for them to finally send the link at the exact time his appt started. He then waited 30 mins for the doctor to jump on the call. After he took some tests the doctor ordered him, it came back positive for a bacterial infection. We waited a couple of days and no word from the doctor. It’s been 2 weeks now and the doctor nor anyone from his office has reached out regarding the positive test. There’s no way to reach out to him or message him directly either. Do not go here unless you want to get scammed and receive no responses from the doctor or his team.

Most terrible experience, very disorganized, no follow up, any questions they refer you to someone else. They ask you to come in early and then are late and when you voice frustration they take it personally. I would AVOID this place at any cost!

Patient care is excellent. I had a procedure and it was fast, painless and the staff made sure I have everything I need to feel comfortable. Ashley, Nicole, and Shade are a great nurses and are on top of everything at all times. They were very informative and caring I definitely felt that I am in a very competent and capable hands. Dr Marcus really makes sure he has all the information before making any intervention and takes his time to come up with the most optimal treatment plan. Hands down the best care I have ever received! If you ever have any GI problems this is the place to go.

Avoid this place at all cost! They just want your money. I scheduled the appointment with Dr. Marcus but they scheduled with Caroline (on purpose because Dr. Marcus only does procedures and was not disclosed when scheduling). I did not find this out until you I got the link one day prior to my appointment . I tried to reschedule with Dr. Marcus and was told he only does procedures and doesn’t see patients. So I decided to cancel and had to fight for the cancellation fee. Then suddenly he is available for same day. They scheduled without confirming with me. I was not available at that time and they are trying to charge cancellation fee. They just want your money. Avoid this place!!

Try this facility!! Dr. Marcus was awesome! Supper patient, expert, friendly and professional. When I got in to his office, I saw many awards and certificates on the walls and I was impresses with his knowledge. I had my Endoscopy today with Dr. Marcus and his lovely team. I have been looking for a Endoscopy center since 2 months ago. But non of the doctors accepted me because I did not want to be on anesthesia. But Dr. Marcus accepted me while he knew it is going to be a difficult process. He talked with me during the operation, counting down the operation time, sharing step by step of the process..... It was supper easy and very quick. In 3-5 minutes he was done. I thought that he will let me go because I was not anesthesia and no monitoring was required after endoscopy. But he kept me there monitoring my blood pressure, heart rate and my general health. Long story short, I found my GI doctor finally and will stick to him for all GI related problems
