The visit was too fast; he did not take time to listen; he just stated I needed surgery from viewing a paper report from an ER. I felt so uneasy. I did not go through with the surgery with him I am still looking for options and in pain. Had he had a bit of bed-side manners, I would be in his hands. I do not trust people who are so rushed and uninterested.

My Name is Dave Grice. I went to see Dr. Ngo for a second opinion regarding my prostate cancer diagnosis. He clearly explained my options and answered all of my questions. He is very comfortable to talk with and very reassuring. Dr. Ngo performed a robotic prostatectomy, as this was his recommendation. The results have been amazing and I can't say enough about his skills and abilities!! I returned to work two and a half weeks later. No one could believe my recovery, including me! I recently had the need to see a urologist. Not knowing who to go see, I was fortunate that I chose him from the list of doctors available to me through Palo Alto Medical. Dr. Ngo worked with me to explain my issue and the available treatments. I liked his personable attitude and I felt like I was being taken cared ever step of the way. In the end, my problem required surgery and Dr. Ngo did a fantastic job. His pre and post surgery communication and follow up was incredibly assuring. I can attest to his skills as a surgeon and my experience was nothing but the best. Crystal, his nurse, was also great in helping me schedule tests and coordinating my surgery date.I highly recommend Dr. Ngo and his staff if you are in need of his services!

I got a referral to Dr Ngo from the Urologist I had been seeing before we moved to San Jose after I started having problems with my prostrate. At my first appointment with Dr Ngo he clearly explained my problem and the options I had. I chose a non-surgical option which didn't work out but Dr Ngo was supportive in trying it. I realized I wasn't going to be able to shrink my prostrate with meds when I ended up in the ER a week later. I saw Dr Ngo again and I gave in to the reality of surgery. He explained the surgery and post surgical recovery to me and we scheduled it. All went exactly as Dr Ngo had said and I am completely symptom free.Any Urologist could have done this surgery but there are several things that in my mind set Dr Ngo apart from the others. His practice does more of this type of robotic surgeries than others in the area. The hospital where he did the surgery is consumed with germ control, I had to shower twice with special soap the night before and the morning of surgery, I was given a tooth brush and told to brush my teeth, and had my nostrils swabbed with antibiotic Q-tips which I later found out controls for MRSA.BUT the major advantage was Dr Ngo, himself. Every time I texted him with a question he responded, even on Sunday. His calm, confident, and professional manner goes a long way when you're facing surgery. He spent time talking to me and was in no hurry to move on until I was satisfied that I had the information I needed. Rarely will you find the blending of someone as highly skilled in their professional career while also having the caring heart the Dr Ngo exhibits. I highly recommend you to his care.

My kidney cancer was discovered as an incidental finding on a CT scan. Dr. Ngo performed my robotic nephrectomy in August this year. He explained the procedure well. Following my surgery I was in the hospital overnight and in a couple of weeks I was back to my normal routine just as Dr. Ngo predicted. I am grateful to have had such a skilled and compassionate surgeon.

Did not push surgery. But I decided to have it anyway and he saved my life.
