Benjamin T. Larson's Online Review Report Card

Although the doctors are wonderful, the office is not accommodating nor well managed. My father was seen by Dr, Larson on August 23, diagnosed and referred to surgery with a high priority. i Was told when checking out that it Would be 3-5 days for approval. Not hearing anything after a week, left a message that was not returned. When I went in person, the surgery coordinator said she was greatly understaffed, had not yet submitted to insurance but promised to the following day. It took 19 days for the office to submit the request to the insurance office. All that time, my 93 year old father has been in pain. No excuse!

I just saw Dr. Larsen, Murrieta urologist 05/24/21 and he was maybe 5 minutes later than my appointment. We talked about a surgery and he never made us feel rushed. He has the education, training and experience I was looking for. I came with a list of questions that I derived from much more than casual google searches. He was ready and covered everything. I'm not sure how he got a single star; I've seen other reviews, different subjects, and nearly everybody gets a few "1's". Sometimes we look at doctors as gods. I previously worked at one of the best hospitals in California, years ago and it was true then as well. I've also been seen by Dr. Crisell who was also top notch. I am not a softie concerning yelp reviews.

Very good. Dr spent time with me and ordered the necessary tests to identify the situation I was having. Was very pleased with his care.

Communication among his staff and patients lacks professionalism. Health documents get lost & must be re faxed numerous times. Miscommunication from one staff to the other. Right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. Errors caused by lack of clear communication among his staff cause delay in appointments. I wonder if Dr. Larson realizes the mass confusion among his staff in his office and what stress it causes his patients?

Dr Larson 9/21/19Patient Beware!I have seen Dr. Larson about five times. Invariably he has been very late for his appointments. Also, he has cancelled appointments with me. He is regularly an hour late for his appointments with me. My last visit with him after waiting for 90 minutes, I approached the nurses' station and Dr. Larson happened to be there. I told the nurse I wanted to be sure they did not forget me since I had been waiting for an hour and a half. He curtly replied " I have been here nine hours". I responded, "Can you give me an idea of how long it will be before I can be seen?" He was clearly agitated and said, "When I am finished". (He was doing paperwork.) Then he told me he still had another patient to see before me and I could leave and reschedule if I wanted to. (He made this remark knowing he was going to surprise me with the diagnosis of Stage IV Cancer when he saw me!). He was condescending and disrespectful! Finally after one hour and forty minutes, he came in my room and informed me I had Stage IV Cancer. I was stunned! That diagnosis was totally unexpected. He then told me my treatment should start as soon as possible and will include a series of painful injections in the abdomen along with radiation and oral medication. In what supposedly was an attempt to soothe me, Dr. Larson then coldly stated that they used to cut off the testicles of someone with my diagnosis. Apparently that information was intended to make me feel better about my up coming treatment regimen. Of course, after this visit, I decided to see a different physician for my treatment. I advise you to do the same!

Dr Larson is very knowledgeable,and personable he takes the time reviewing your case and running tests, before treatment. Discusses all our options so you feel comfortable in your decision making. Dr Larson is never in a hurry nor do you feel rushed in making a decision right away. I have the utmost confidence in him,and feel 100% better, than i have in years. Next year my insurance will be changing and i made sure Dr Larson was on my new list.
