List of John Hong's Reviews
Very efficient and professional. Staff is friendly and show concern.
Although I did not speak directly with Dr. Hong, I was very pleased with video appointment with Morgan Phelps, FNP-C. Morgan Phelps was very thorough. My concern, medication refills, and questions were addressed fully. I did not feel rushed. Assuming my concern was shared with Dr. Hong, I am very pleased.
This was my 1st appointment and was there 2 hours. I never got to meet Dr. Hong. I did meet his nurse practitioner and she was wonderful and very knowledgeable. I would have liked to have met my new doctor, but it wasn't to be. One extremely annoying thing was sitting in the waiting room listening to the phone ring and ring and ring without any 1 of the 3 receptionists answering. Overall and thanks only to Cynthia, the nurse practitioner, I was happy with my initial visit.
I booked an appointment with this doctor via Zoc Doc. The appointment clearly stated that this was a in-office visit. I arrived promptly only to be told by his office via phone that there had been a mistake since the doctor is only doing virtual sessions, and that I needed to reschedule (next available date is in a month...) I pushed back and got a virtual date on the same day. Rushed back home and dialed into the meeting. The doctor is NO SHOW! How does this happen to a medical service group, where time matters and directly affect patient's quality of life?
Once connected, Dr. Hong discussed the upcoming procedure.they are contacting in a third party physician To confirm my use of plavix and discontinuance of it. Prior to the procedure. I'm awaiting the appointment scheduling. DR. Hong is very professional and approwchableas are his staff members.
Been a patient of Dr Hong since 2013, recently had Endoscopy and Colonoscopy performed by Dr Hong was very satisfied with my procedure. Proud of all his staff, who showed consistent professionalism, dedication and caring of their patients. Definitely will recommend.
DR Hong is a doctor who cares about each patient. With his medical advice and expertise I feel he will provide the level of care I need as a senior citizen.
I've been seeing Dr. Hong for approximately six years now. He is a very compassionate and caring provider. He is a good listener, takes a very thorough case history to evaluate what you might have going on. He takes the time to answer your questions and explain everything to you thoroughly. I've had nothing but pleasant experiences with the MAs, the PAs, and the nurses who prep you for your procedures such as colonoscopies or endoscopy's. If you were looking for a gastroenterologist, I highly recommend Dr. Hong. He works hard to give all his patients individual attention, so he may be hard to schedule with. Unless you have something extremely urgent that needs to be addressed, he is worth the wait.
The best thing that Dr Hong has is an assitant named Nenneth Campos from Los Alamitos office. I dont know what would happen to his Practice without Nenneth. I will not rate Dr Hong since I dont see him or talk to him. For him Patients are just a Number.
Poor service. He was 45min late to a telehealth consult. When he did finally show up, he was rushed and dismissive, had not read the patient history and was interrupting the patient. He only spent 3 minutes for a first consult Very unprofessional.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
