I would recommend coming to see Dr. Nguyen Tran because he is patient and explains everything that needs to be done. My father has dementia and needs someone to be very nice and patient. He's the only dentist that my dad responds well to. We're very lucky to have found him.

The dentist seemed really nice and chatty at first. But I got very mixed messages from him; and my teeth haven't been the same since my visit. His hand was shaking with the force he used for my "cleaning." And he left a deep groove in my tooth where there wasn't one before. He told me my insurance covered a cleaning once a year and if I wanted another one in six months to call and pay out of pocket. But when I asked about getting a filling, he said my insurance wouldn't cover it. I said I'd pay out of pocket and he refused. I left feeling like he just messed with my teeth so that I'll need more expensive work down the line.

My review is years late, but we have been going to University Square Dental for myself and my boys for almost 5 years. We live out in Otay ranch/Eastlake area, but I don't mind the drive since he is such a great dentist. My boys are both comfortable with him, as am I. Not only is he nice, but very professional and the office is always clean and comfortable. They have TVs in the areas so kids can feel comfortable watching a movie. I cant reccomend this place enough!

I absolutely loved my experience at Dr. Tran's office! It was spotless and so modern! My favorite part was definitely how he took detailed pictures of my before/after cleaning & throughly explained what he noticed was affecting my teeth & gums. He also was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions throughly. I can't wait to come back for my next cleaning/check up!

Best place to take your kids & family to the dentist . Doctor is very patient & explains things thoroughly . Prices are very reasonable . Staff is very polite & professional .

Just visited today with my deep cleaning.2weeks from today I will come back for 5 fillings .he's very nice and professional.he always explant for u to understand.and he never pushing you like another dentist .the office very clean ,they have a touch screen to see every corner of your teeths .if you need Vietnamese dentist to understand your questions.come here he's speaks Vietnamese language

Guys, before you go to other dentists you should speak with him!! Outstanding patient relations and state of the art equipment. The staff is very professional and friendly.I went there after a bad experience with another dentist for a 2nd opinion and i am glad i did. Immediately got a referral for some specialist work and he also he identified other problems. It wasn't like he merely said it, but he showed it to me by taking pictures. I went ahead and did the procedure he recommended with great results! He has a steady hand and i should mention that i barely felt the injection for the anesthetic.
