List of Yara Matta's Reviews
My kids and I started with Dr Matta when she was first building her schedule. She saw my son for his first visit until we moved away from California in 2020 or 2021. She is truly amazing and very rare in the medical field. She was so loving and super attentive to my son and unfortunately my youngest son only saw her for a couple visits before he had to transfer to a military clinic due to insurance so I kept my oldest with her and my youngest at the other clinic. It makes me extremely sad to had left because I cannot find anyone remotely close to her. She is very detailed, very patient and never felt rushed during our visits. She was great with me and I was very satisfied with her care. She is truly meant for this profession. She will change your mind if you have negative experiences in your medical care. She is one of those doctors your child goes to until they are unable and that they would always remember. Whoever is lucky enough to have her as a provider will be very happy with her!! Thank you for all you do Dr Matta Candice & Jaxon A.
Dr Matta and her team have been the most caring I have found in the last 10 years. I’m anxious with any and all medical issues and they were all extremely sensitive to that and did what they could to ease any concern I had and always quick to answer any questions. Very responsive and I’m sooo sad to have to find another PCP b/c they will not be in network with me any longer 😭
So my impression is that Dr. Matta is a fabulous Doctor, but she is 100% hindered by the operations of her office. The office is either severely understaffed or mismanaged. There is a lack of operational efficiency at every turn. Enough to warrant a poor review on Yelp which I hate doing but people....BE WARNED especially if you are expecting timely service while trying to address a health issue. Calling the office is an infinite hold queue that EASILY exceeds 30 minutes. I did my best to give the benefit of the doubt that it was just a busy day but I am now on my 5th attempt to contact this office and my hold time today exceed 41 minutes before I gave up. Our 1st telehealth appointment was confusing, Dr. Matta was late, then there were zero instructions on how to obtain scripts for labs. We weren't informed which lab the requests were sent to. Since you can't efficiently get ahold of anyone on the phone this required my husband to make an extra trip to drive across town to find out in person. Now let's chat about the Patient Portal where we messaged the Doctor on February 11th and the office did not return our call/message for A MONTH. 2nd appointment. Our $100 copay was conveniently collected but our appointment time came and went with zero communication from the office. I remained in a hold queue for 30 minutes, about to hang up when a text comes through with a Zoom link. Dinner is now cold, there is zero respect for patient time and I am expected to join this call as if I was not just completely inconvenienced at the cost of $100. At the end of the day we are all trying to navigate a broken system. Practices that have zero respect for patient time are not helping. I can't in good faith recommend this office with my recent experience that spanned over a few months.
Dr. Matta is very personable and has a relaxed bedside manner, great about answering questions and doesn't make you feel rushed.
I was really excited to establish care with a doctor with such great reviews, unfortunately this office tried to charge me $100 for a telehealth WITH insurance. That is absolutely absurd. I've worked in the medical field and with insurances thru the pandemic and have never heard of such a high price for a video call. Hopefully in the future this office can be more transparent with their patients on their pricing and policies before waiting 2 weeks for an appointment in the future.
Dr. Yara Matta is very kind, easy going, and makes things easy to understand. The office is very kind and quick at responding to things as well through the portal/calling. Highly recommend !
Dr. Matta took the time to go over my extensive health history and make me extremely comfortable with her. She put me at ease and answered my questions and asked further to get a good idea of my full health. The only downside I had with Dr. Matta was how far she was booking out for initial appointments. I ultimately got an appointment quicker by doing a telehealth visit instead of an in-office visit. However, I still think she was excellent over the video platform.
What's sad is that Dr Matta is actually a really good doctor. Warm, caring, sympathetic. However, I have only been able to actual schedule an appointment with her in person, one time and that was in 2019. Since then, every time I make an appointment whether it be by the Greybill web portal or over the phone I never actually make it on schedule. This has happened x3. I drive down there and surprise, I'm not on the schedule. Even doing a telemedicine appointment, I did not see Dr. Matta, I had the NP. Which was fine but my appointment was at 4:30 and I wasn't see on a telemedicine appointment till almost 6pm. Which is ridiculous. Today, I called at 8am to schedule an appointment. Matta was not available because she doesn't work on Monday's and I knew that going in. Fine. I told the receptionist that I needed to see anyone, it really didn't matter (told them specifically what my issue was) and I said that if they couldn't get me in I needed to know so I could go the the ED now. They said they could schedule me with Dr Oliver at 2pm and that I need too arrive at least 15-20 minutes prior since he would need more time during the appointment. Great! I was relieved. I get there at 2pm. Guess whose NOT on the appointment schedule? Me! Again. I burst into tears. How many times can you mess up an appointment for someone? What's so funny is if I didn't have the appointment, how did the lady behind the desk know the exact reason I was there? It should not be this difficult to schedule and honor and appointment with your doctor. Poor standards. It's an absolute shame.
I had Yara Matta as my PCP for years and I LOVED her. I only wish my insurance hadn't changed so I could continue to see her. She was always very helpful and she actually listened when I spoke and explained symptoms or conditions.
Wonderful person amazing with kids, and adults always smiling.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
