David S Kim's Online Review Report Card

This review is for Davis S Kim MD alone but not the office and how they bill insurance. We got 2 babies delivered with Dr Kim (2.5 years apart). As a healthcare professional myself, I can attest that he is very good at what he does. I was in the delivery / surgical rooms both times, and he explains well and does the job really well. He delivers a lot of babies per year. He works almost non-stop. His "problem" is that he has a lot of patients which explains why you have to wait so long. For those who say that the office "overcharges" insurance claims, you just don't know how medical insurance billing works. Just for the skills/experience alone, I am confident that Dr. Kim is one of the best OBs in the Los Angeles area. We don't have another baby plans but if that day comes I'm going back to Dr Kim's office.

I loved working with Dr. Kim for my first pregnancy. I stumbled upon his office through my insurance directory. He was the only doctor in LA that would take my husbands insurance. At first, I was offended Dr. Kim went straight to my weight while I was 5 months pregnant. Eventually, Dr. Kim grew on me because I realized his skills. He really cares about you and your baby. Often times, he cared about the pregnancy more than me. He even called me after hours to check on my stress levels. He works above and beyond; and knows he's good stuff. His confidence is cocky but his work backs it up. You can't hate a person for being such on pointe, and for the care he put into it makes me adore him more. I will definitely come back to him. I can see why people come from San Francisco to work with him, he's awesome!

I should have believed all the reviews that I read about his awful bedside manner. He is self obsessed and has very little care for his patients especially during a very scary and sensitive time. I wonder why he decided to be a doctor at all if this is how little he thinks of others. Let this be a lesson to always trust when you see so many bad Yelp reviews!!

I hardly write bad reviews but wow I couldn't believe the rude mannerism of the receptionist I felt like this needs to catch the Doctors attention. If you want clients you need to hire a professional and kind receptionist. I called today to schedule an appointment because I recently found out I was pregnant and my primary doctor referred me here. The reception named Judy hangs up on me twice (im guessing because she cant hear me), the 3rd time I call she picks up again and asked "why I am calling without even a hello". I tell her I have a referral and would like to make an appointment for my pregnancy check up. Then she asks me how long am I (first off thats their job to tell me) I let her know that is why I would like to make the appt, then she tells me in the rudest tone of voice "I shouldnt make an appt if I am early theres no point and who is my primary doctor" after I tell her all the info she then states "so do you want to make an appt or not". I couldn't believe how rude she was if you dont have the professionalism of dealing with patients dont be a receptionist.

I really like Dr.Kim, he delivered all my four children. He does have a sense of humor but his trust worthy to know that he will be there to deliver your child. I'm glad that he was there to deliver all my four kids. I really recommend Dr.Kim to all mom to be.

He is so great and full of love...He is very humane. He really loves the babies and is doing good care of all the mothers.

Be ready to wait 1 hour or more at the waiting room for seeing Dr. Kim.Extremely inconsiderate in wasting patient time. When you ask what is going on? The response is oh do you want to reschedule?!!!!

It's taken me several months to write a review for Dr. Kim. Mostly bc there are no words to describe how amazing he is at his job. I have the privilege of working with some wonderful OB doctors (him being one) and all of them are wonderful. Speaking from the side of being a patient of Dr Kim, I can say he is very talented, knowledgeable and confident in his practice. My case was very complicated and throughout the whole time he reassured me that he would take good care of me even with all my fears (status post traumatic birth prior to this pregnancy) and anxieties. Not only is he wonderful and amazing with me but with ALL his patients. I can't say enough thanks to Dr Kim for his great work and for being my doctor. This review is the least I could say for such a great person!

Very unprofessional and terrible bedside manner, I am a young woman and I felt very violated and had to request there be a nurse present for my pelvic exam? What the heck? Would not recommend

Great doctor ever! If you're dissatisfied and unhappy about him, wait till your delivery day. It'll change whole lot of what you've been thinking about him. I also considered switiching doctor at 25 weeks. I was carrying a twins and he didn't seem to give much attention and the staffs in the front doesn't know what they're doing not to mention their rudeness. My due date approached. And since I was carrying a twins with one placenta which is of higher risk he started to pay more attention and he actually seem to care. He doesn't seem to care sometimes since he knows what's going on and there's nothing to worry about. Finally, for the delivery, I had a hard time with vaginal delivery on my first pregnancy so I was very hesitant to try another vaginal with my twins. But he suggested vaginal delivery and it was a very smooth delivery. I really recommend Dr Kim and choosing him was one of the best choices I've ever made. Lastly, I also thought checking on his patients every morning post delivery was very nice. I figured he is late to his office since he was at the hospital every morning. He seemed to know what's more important.
