My first visit to Dr. Bosetti was yesterday and I was very impressed with Napa Valley Eye Center.  Yes, the reviews you read about the office  are correct; it's a very busy office.  However, once I got checked in which was less than 5 minutes, Dr. Bosetti came out to the waiting room and said he would be right with me...and, he was.  I was taken in the back office and had 3 eye exams by the assistants before Dr. Bosetti came in.  The care I received by all the staff was efficient, yet thorough.My mother has age-related macular degeneration, so I keep up with my annual eye exams.  When I was filling out the required office paperwork, it said be prepared for an hour and a half to two hours for your appointment.  Wow!  That's unheard of unless an office isn't efficient.  Not the case here.  Dr. Bosetti is kind, professional and empathetic.  He actually listens and is very thorough.  I left with two prescriptions for an eye infection that I thought was  allergy related and recommendations for supplements and drops.  I felt very well taken care of and have a better understanding of my eye health.  Glad I found Dr. John Bosetti.

Dr Bosetti preformed Cataract surgery on both my eyes recently. I am a retired architect and my vision became cloudy to the point I had trouble driving at night because of the glare and was easily blinded by contrasting bright sunlight and deep shadow. Dr Bosetti diagnosed cataracts in both eyes and recommended lens transplants. He was thorough in testing, clearly answered all questions. The surgery was a overwhelming success. I highly recommend him .

I have never felt more like I paid more co-pays, had more visits for a single issue, was treated in patronizing fashion and the meds he prescribed were almost always not on my health plan which by the way is practically a Cadillac PPO plan....now I get sent to ucsc where they don't even make the contact out get the proper docs sent over for a concise evaluatuon... again had to be my on advocate. Put on hold in with the office staff sometimes 8 mins or more and switched from one person to the next. The only thing they have going for them in their is Dr. Vu (amazing man), kind and gentlehearted and their glassware technicians!

After sitting in the waiting room for 30 minutes, I decided to reschedule my appointment as I had other obligations. The receptionist informed me that the average wait time to be seen is 30-60 minutes. This tells me they are disorganized and inconsiderate of their patients time. Two qualities I will tolerate when I'm paying top dollar for services. The waiting room was packed, the staff seemed stressed. I never saw the doctor and will not go back. Later I spoke with a friend who has been seeing a doctor in this office for 15 years and she confirmed that the office is always crowded and wait times are consistently greater than 30-40 minutes. I waited 7 weeks for this appointment and am very disappointed.

Dr. Bosetti is kind-hearted, good with explanations, thorough, quick to determine dx and tx. Overall, a great eye doctor. Top of the class, still!
