Balaji Charlu's Online Review Report Card

I did not get to see Dr. Charlu because he's very busy but I hear he's a fantastic doctor.   Because I had just been in an accident and needed to get in immediately, I  was scheduled to see the P.A., Lindsey, who is pleasant, yet impatient and onto the next patient quickly.  I asked for a Tele-Doc appt. so I could get a further MRI on my neck and I never received a call back on the date I scheduled it for.   I have now gone to a different orthopedic in Newport  and found out that I have a major herniated disc in my neck, which is exactly why I was reaching out to Lindsey for on a Tele-Doc visit to get a second MRI.   I never received the Tele-Doc call and when I called the office they said there were notes that she said I should get P.T. and epidurals without even discussing it with me or the results of my MRI personally, which I just picked up from the receptionist.   I'm really disappointed with the care and treatment I got from Lindsey and, like I said, I didn't get to see Dr. Charlu, so I would suggest waiting the time to see him if you can or else seek out a different orthopedic - I won't mention names, but I found the best one in NP Beach after my visit with them.    I would NEVER suggest going to this office again.   Again, this isn't about Dr. Charlu, and I don't want to discredit him.   Just don't see his P.A.Lindsey.~ JJ

Very personable and efficient

I saw dr charlu for 6 years for lower back ephedurals. He then told doctors don't make the money they used to and he would only do one side at a time, I had to come back for the other side. I left for a while and returned to dr charlu and i asked him to give me trigger point injections with cortisone in my lower back and he told me he would not give me any more cortisone because it would be a waste. He told me to bend over when I walk and that might relieve my pain. This doctor should be fired and put in jail.

This doctor falsely accused me of being an addict. This doctor attempted to compare my absolutely mangled and amputated pinky to other cases when he never even saw my hand. I’ve gone through the most pain from my finger literally being severed from my hand and I had a problem with medication. There is a reason why certain medications are stronger than others and I feel this experience with this doctor was by far the most unprofessional and borderline malpractice with prejudice I have ever seen. I’ve got over 10 years of executive healthcare experience under my belt and this will be reported to my insurance and I will be looking at ramifications for this terrible experience and defamation of character.

Went to him for a pinched nerve issue. First, I was made to wait literally an hour and a half. When he finally came in, he seemed to be in a big rush, kept looking at the computer and not at me. He obviously was looking at my charts and MRI for the first time. Then he for all practical purposes asked 'me' what kind of pain medication I would like and/or if I would like to get an epidural injection. Guess he is the doctor, should he not suggest? Later I realized that the dose of the nerve med he finally gave me was so low that the next Pain Med doctor I went to had to increase it literally 9-fold. While leaving, I asked him if the 90-minute wait was what I should expect in future visits, he simply said he was super busy and yes, I should expect a wait. No sorry, no table manners, nothing. Never going back to him for sure. Very poor experience on all fronts.

I have been Dr Charlu's patient for over 7 years with low back pain associated with prior surgery. Can't say enough! He is professional and caring. He is as best as they come.

Dr. Charlu has been treating me for acute lumbar and sciatic pain for little under a year now. I am very grateful for his depth of knowledge, understanding and professional care in helping to relieve my acute pain. I have hope, again, and feel confident he can help me have a better quality of life in managing pain.

My back problems have grown considerably with age until now I'm left with severe pain if left untreated.      Dr. Balaji has been giving me cortisone injections and they have reduced my pain so I'm able with Physical Therapy to live more comfortably.  What I'm most surprised of is the injections have become more effective as time has passed.  The last one I had the most satisfied I have become.  There are many other variables to consider, but I know the injections have been a crucial factor in helping me to fight the pain and live a better life.

Dr. Charlu takes time to listen to his patients and discusses the best option(s) for them.

Without Dr.Charlu i probably wouldn't be able to stand upright or even walk..Anyone afraid of having their back worked on be assured he is the best!! I've read all the negative reviews and all I can say is that these people are not looking for pain relief instead want to be coddled..He doesn't have time to listen to all your lengthy stories about how bad your pain is..He has an M.R.I. to refer to..Make up your own mind..His ablations are magnificent....
