David A. Gehret's Online Review Report Card

Wish I had read a few of these reviews before seeing Dr. Gehret. The guy is rude, rude, rude, has bad manners and acted like I was a pain in his side for having an appointment with him. I was referred to him by an Orthopedic doctor. He didn't look me in the eye once and acted like my symptoms meant nothing to him. He was confrontational with my medical history. He called his front office on the phone while I was sitting there and argued with them before telling them to never-mind and hanging up. Truly uncomfortable. I don't think this behavior can be called "old school" (from above review), that's ridiculous. I will be telling my referring orthopedic doctor what a terrible experience this was.

I was referred to call 2 neurologists by my primary physician. When I called Dr. Gehret's office, the phone was immediately answered by a professional, friendly gentlemen who took my information, secured the first-available appointment for me (not too far out), and explained the initial visit protocol to me (including that he would email me the intake forms in advance, to expedite my visit). I called the other recommended doctor - got a voicemail and never received a call back (even tried calling again). So glad I went with Dr. Gehret and his team! Their office is a well-oiled, friendly, and professional machine. I was seen within minutes of my appointment time. Dr. Gehret took genuine interest in securing a complete history of my complaint. He gave a thorough exam, documented his notes along the way, made his recommendations and observations, and outlined next steps. He listened to me, was kind, and his team had everything together for me when I left the office. 5 Stars!!

A man who has dedicated his professional life to the studies of the brain and nerve system. Having had a visit to understand my issues I left knowing that my anxiety could go away as I was in the hands of a caring knowledgeable Doctor. More to follow as I'm embarking on a treatment program.

I am thrilled that I was referred to Dr. David Gehret. On my first visit to him, he gave me the most thorough examination that I have ever received from a specialist. Future tests and examination were just as meticulous. His prescription for my issue was completely successful. I have every confidence in Dr. Gehret and would recommend him highly.

These guys should be in cirque as clowns rather health care.After a month and half they called me to confirm my appointment on Monday and couple hours later a guy called me to say dr had an emergency and won't be back till February.Clowns like you are the reason for this country going to shit.

My experience with Dr. David Gehret was the worst experience I’ve ever had. He is an angry man that is ice cold and very unsympathetic. I waited past my appointment an hour and a half, when he walked in the room he said he was in a rush and did not have enough time and was disturbed I was even there. This was an extremely Bad experience, I suggest anyone that needs a neurologist should go somewhere else. It was an exceptionally stressful appointment.

If I could put no star I would. This doctor needs to do research and not deal with patients. He has a bad attitude extremely angry and has no patients. After waiting an hour and ten minutes I went into his examining room and he said I'm in a hurry, why are you here again I had only seen him once 2 years ago. I couldn't wait to run out of his office. If you read his other reviews you will see more of this. I suggest go to another doctor this is the worst experience I've ever had in the 21 years I've been living in newport with any doctor.

I was very happy with Dr. Gehret's professional attitude and thorough exam. I would recommend his care! Very helpful staff, also.

Dr. Gehret is extremely knowledgeable and respected in his field.  I was his patient for 25 years while he was treating me for MS.  My respect for Dr. Gehret is immeasurable.  He is very knowledgeable of his colleagues and their specific expertise and works well with other physicians as a team member to provide patients with the most comprehensive medical care possible.Dr. Gehret is the utmost professional.  His office is a place of work and it is always treated as a medical environment with the focus on problem solving.  He listens and provides an environment that supports communication.  In addition to the immediate care and communication,  emails are also used to answer specific questions.Excellent Specialist!Glenda G.

Dr. Gehret and his staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. I needed assistance with paperwork for my aunt who is a patient of Dr. Gehret and he made himself available to fill everything out at a moment's notice. His staff got back to me right away and provided me with everything I needed.
