Dr. Rhie is the best of the best! He has been my doctor for over 10 years and he saved my life and for that, I will forever be grateful. I wish him the best in his retirement! He is very kind, very thorough, very efficient, and a brilliant doctor.
I was referred by my family physician, Dr. Mikio Tachibana with ultrasound report on Thyroid scan. I was really impressed with his medical knowledge on my thyroid problem. He has made clear description on what to expect for my thyroid problem.
I became Diabetic TYPE 1 in 1984, In 1988 I as referred by Dr Kevin Huntsman to ENDO Dr Rhie. I was a Brittle & Unaware Diabetic with highs and lows and frequent hospitalization monthly. Dr RHIE recommended to my insurance that I be placed on the Disetronic Insulin Infusion Pump. My hospitalizations dramatically decreased as did the Highs & Lows. After he left to work on computer entry medical records I was assigned to Dr MAYEDA with whom I was well taken care of with my health a priority. Very satisfied with treatment from these doctors and St Joseph's.
Does the right thing regardless of what might be expected. Knows his stuff.
I have had Hashimotos for many years, with reasonable clinical functioning of my thyroid, med free. I started having problems approximately 4 yrs ago when I entered menopause, the fluctuations were affecting my Hashimotos. I saw the MD and was completely stunned by the way he minimally examined me. He ordered thyroid ultrasound and never called me with results, never, luckily I had asked the ultrasound tech as I am an RN and she gave them to me. This MD touched my skin and said "you're skin is very hot, you obviously have autoimmune issues and inflammation." Did not offer any options and said my labs looked ok, besides my thyroid peroxidase being in the 10,000s....waste of time and money, MD seemed very non-interested in helping create a plan to get me feeling better, endos in Orange County are very hard to find that actually are proactive in helping the patient, it takes a team approach.
Would not recommend this doctor. Doesn't seem overly concerned about discovering what the problem is. Does not order additional tests. Does not even do a thorough physical exam before making a diagnosis. Just wants to prescribe meds and send you on your way. Don't waste your time. Look elsewhere.
I was referred by my primary care doctor because of abnormal hormone levels. Dr. Rhie was dismissive of my symptoms and spent all of about 6-7 minutes with me before saying that he couldn't help me.
Seemed confused while taking my health history, had to go over things more than a few times. I printed out test reports that he didn't have on my second visit. Didn't see anything in my test results, even though my testosterone is a few points above low on two tests, basically said I need counseling, there is nothing wrong with me and said I could leave. An endo where you can get an appt within a week and accepts HMO, not a good sign of a doctor in demand. Sink in his exam room was filthy.
Worst bedside manner of any Dr. Ive been too..... quick look at blood results...prescribes meds, doesn't care about working with you, or suggest any positive things you can do.... just meds...why is this guy still practicing? Out of boredom ?
Worst Doctor you will ever meet! Misdiagnosed me, had to get physican involved since this doctor couldn't care less. Horrible bedside manner, and only accepts cash or Che is ( IRS would not like to hear that, never mind the inconvenience to patients). All those could be overlooked if he knew what he was doing! Don't know how he still has his medical license.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
