Hoag Hospital Newport Beach's Online Review Report Card

disappointed, father in law came in on an ambulance with TIA symptoms. Told the HB EMTs, and the nurses 3x. they kept him in the waiting room from 8p - 1am. EMTs wrote down "weakness"DR's confirmed TIA, said he should've been admitted immediately and to lay flat.We trusted the office to take care of this info that we passed on, if you feel something is wrong, say something. I thought we could trust the office, but my wife went up 3x to tell the nurses what happened and they had no clue what was going on.

This review is for the HOAG Hospital Doctor Referral. The operators who refer doctors have referred doctors to me for three weeks that DO NOT perform the surgery I need to remove my thyroid cancer. I'm running out of time to get my surgery.Update on my review...Now its for Hoag Hospital Policy. If you meet with one surgeon, you are not permitted to meet with any other Hoag Surgeon. So forget about making an informed conscience decision about choosing a surgeon with Hoag Hospital. A person is only able to choose a surgeon by chance. First come, first serve.WOW. I used to think Hoag was a place of top-notch medical care. I would strongly suggest everyone looks else where, if you care about your health, that is...

It's outrageous that the staff have no idea how to use the facility's Epic EHR application. This has delayed/impacted the patient's medical care! Whoever is/are in charge of training need to be ashamed! I can't believe how CLUELESS the staff are. Unreal.

I need to do this review immediately because the efficiency of my visit in the Emergency Department as I sit here has been close to remarkable.  From the valet all the way through X-ray it took me 10 minutes....the young lady checking me in was spectacular, the triage nurse just as efficient. Blood draw and X-ray followed within minutes.  I realize my time in the waiting room will be short and wanted to say thanks! HOAG ER you deserve these these 5 stars!Update: you can thank Dr Takemoto for taking this rating down. Extremely dismissive to my thoughts and suggestions on what was actually wrong with me.  I am NOT a Google expert in medicine, I had spent 27 years in the operating room as a surgical assistant and technician as well as my wife was a practicing physician for 20 years....I don't go to the ER on a whim, I go when there is an emergency!  I do apologize for the low star update because the ancillary crew was FANTASTIC and EFFICIENT, the doctor SUCKED! Please don't blame COVID for this either.

Is worse hospital in orange county especially in Irvine emergency room horrible do not take care of you nurse playing with their phone chicken their Instagram and Facebook do not care about a patient never going There

This hospital is great the The doctors are very informed and nurses respond very quickly to any needs that you have. I came in for seizures and withdrawing off my medications and they have helped me so much thank you hoag

If you rate hospitals on the view and nice clean decor this place is five stars. Unfortunately, they do not care about their patients. They cannot provide any reliable timelines to patients or their families on when any medical test that are scheduled will actually take place. Simple things like making sure orders to provide a patient who hasn’t eaten in 24 hours are overlooked due to the disorganization. The discharge process is chaotic. Medications are often confused. Prior to being admitted here my dad was discharged from Hoag Irvine and all the medications orders were also incorrect so apparently this is a systems problem at Hoag. That Hospital is another story in itself as they sent him home from the ER when he had a stroke only to have him be brought back later at night when his condition deteriorated further. They are thinly staffed and the nurses are clearly overwhelmed and frustrated. This might be the only hospital you might have to call 911 from.

The best hospital with the best staff ever!
