Dr Liao is a great Primary Care Physician - but his greatest strength is his competent nursing and front office support staff. Muriel is effective, communicative, and clear, while Celeste up front is reasonable, respectful, and has gone to bat for me when I needed logistical support. I have so far been very happy with the care I have received from this team at Newport Family Physicians (which is saying something bc I have an empirically low opinion of much of the health care culture in this area).

Dr Liao is one of the best doctors, I have been very fortunate having him as my primary care physician . Very understanding and he he has the best listening skills .

Highly Recommend Dr. Liao! Dr. Liao is knowledgeable, resourceful, patient, kind, and easy to communicate with. In addition to conducting regular lab tests for my diabetes and blood sugar, he is also very resourceful in referring me to specialists for my specific health concerns, such as orthopedics, gastrointestinal endoscopy, and liver/kidney ultrasounds. Dr. Liao patiently takes the time to thoroughly explain my health condition, lab results, and addresses all of my concerns. He provides valuable solutions and professional advice. I consider myself very fortunate to have Dr. Liao as my family physician, and I have complete confidence in entrusting my well-being to him. I wholeheartedly recommend that everyone seek out a dependable and highly knowledgeable doctor like him.

Had an appointment today to see Doctor Liao and what an amazing office. First and foremost his assistant Muriel is an angel and handles all intake inuding, vitals and questions relative to medical history and current concerns. What an amazing personality and such a true professional. Dr. Liao is a fantastic primary care physician and professional with top shelf bedside manner relative to compassion and listening with excellent communication of suggested treatments and or care. I highly recommend this dynamic duo for primary care physician consideration. Highly recommended.

Dr. Liao has been my primary doctor for over 10 years. He is simply the best. He is smart, pro active, personable, caring and an excellent communicator. My son is a Harvard MD so I have been exposed to medical excellence. Dr. Liao is excellent.

Dr. Liao is a very special doctor. We have always enjoyed seeing him. He takes his time to listen, think through symptoms and find the best solution. His office staff is on the ball with prescriptions and paperwork. My husband has a lot of medical needs so we really appreciated how organized their office was. There were a few times when we needed an appointment right away due to serious medical needs. They always found time to squeeze us in, even doing same day appointments. We were so sad when Dr. Liao left our medical insurance. We really miss him but understand that maybe the HMO wasn't taking as good care of him as he takes care of his patients. Dr. Liao is the type of person who wants the best care for his patients so we can understand that he had to make sacrifices to be able to be there for his patients. This doctor is a real gem. We hope that the Greater Newport HMO will start taking better care of their staff so they can keep the best doctors instead of settling for the cheapest ones. Dr. Liao if you are reading this, just know we miss you.
