Working in the medical career myself, I've gotten to know a lot of surgeons. A good chunk of the surgeons I've known are not really what you would call "nice." They tend to be gruff, to-the-point, arrogant, don't-waste-their-time types. So, going into my cholecystectomy, I was expecting to meet a similar type of surgeon, but I got Dr. Hurwitz instead! He. Was. Fabulous. He met with me prior to the surgery to go over the plan, was jovial and talkative, and assured me that he never rushes anything when he's in his OR - he takes whatever time is needed to get things done right. He saw me again when I was back in my hospital room to go over how the surgery went and to answer any questions I had. He has fantastic bedside manner and seems to be a sincerely nice and caring person. My surgery went incredibly well, very little pain, and my post-op incisions look perfect. Thank you Dr. Hurwitz for the wonderful work and care!

I had Dr Hurwitz preform a major Hernia operation on June 2020. As a surgeon he was professional and did I good job. I was more then pleased with the operation and he came to check on me several time while I was in the hospital. I also had reconstructive plastic surgery at the same time. This was recommended by Dr Hurwitz. I was back in the hospital due to some necrotic tissue. I never saw Dr Hurwitz again. I had scheduled a follow up but the day of the appointment I was notified Dr Hurwitz had emergency surgery and would have to reschedule. I never received a call from his office and when I call. Ever got any call back. I was finally able to get an appointment but after waiting for over an hour I left. If you are looking for a excellent surgeon Dr Hurwitz is your doctor. If follow up is important I would not recommend this staff. Office is very busy and not really very organized. I am sure he isn’t’t aware Of the situation but his office staff needs to do a way better job following up. Not to see your Doctor for over two months after a major surgery is really poor medical practice. My plastic surgeon was really shocked that I had not been to see him since the surgery. I did however get a bill which I am deducting my time from the amount due. My time is as valuable as his.

I highly recomend Dr Hurwitz to anyone being scared of having a surgery like me. My hernia surgery unfolded flawlessly and definitely the outcome exceeded my expectations. Dr HurWitZ saved my life after a previous procedure performed by a different surgeon failed.I won't go into details but to fix me required three surgeries that were all done by Dr Herwitz with an outcome better than I could have hoped for. That was 6 years ago. Fast forward to two weeks ago when I had to have surgery to remove my gall bladder.Unfortunately Dr Herwitz wasn't on call that night and a different surgeon attended to me. I have been in severe pain ever since.In response to the reviewer who complained about having to wait: there are plenty of surgeons with zero wait time for an office visit and they're available 24/7.However, as I lie here in pain, terrified to cough or sneeze because of pain so intense I almost pass out I can promise you that Dr HurWitZ is worth waiting for.

The very best doctor. Not only does he answer all my questions, but he explains everything about my surgery in detail. On top of that, he’s the nicest and friendliest doctor ever. I feel so lucky he did my surgery. He did a great job!

Dr. Michael Hurwitz was also recommended to me by my primary doctor. Of course, like most people I was searching for that perfect surgeon. The very first appointment with Dr. Michael Hurwitz was A very positive and friendly Meeting. He has excellent bedside manner's and explains options, procedures, outcome, and everything in between in such detail. Out of three possible surgeons I visited I felt most comfortable with Dr. Michael Hurwitz. He was the only surgeon who listened and gave me a possible diagnosis of inguinal endometriosis, even before my pathology reports came back. No other surgeon could understand my symptoms and understood how uncommon this was. He was the only surgeon that was completely confident and was ready to operate on me. There was a very minimal incision made and I didn't even need to take painkillers. I was walking the same day as the surgery. Just a little bit of swelling. Dr. Hurwitz actually called the next day after the surgery to check up on me, he really cares. What doctor does this, seriously. Happy I found this doctor and would highly recommend him to anyone

I was referred to Dr Hurwitz by my personal physician. I was diagnosed with a bilateral hernia. Dr Hurwitz performed the surgery on a Thursday. I was walking that night at home and was in minimal discomfort. Today is day 4 after surgery and I have walked pain free for 2 miles. His staff and surgical unit are excellent and comforting.
