List of Mubina Gaffar, Md's Reviews
2021, I arrived to my appointment having had shortness of breath for a few months. Naturally, I was eager to find a remedy, to which she replied, “I do not have a magic wand”. This response, and others, during my appointment displayed a profound lack of empathy, compassion, and professionalism. You can find plenty of other competent pulmonologists in the area for treatment who do have her personality flaws.
Very kind and empathetic. Determined to figure out what was going on with my lungs. Previous Pulminiligist had diagnosed as asthma and had prescribed 4 different inhalers. Dr Gaffar got to the bottom of the problem via speech therapy. I am no longer on any inhalers and feel fantastic. Thank you for continuing to explore what was going on and ending a 5 year battle of not breathing very well.
She is the absolute best! Literally saved my life! Took me from ICU to back to my busy and blessed life. She is so smart, decisive, connected and gets her patients exactly what they need to beat recover. Very compassionate.
Dr. Gaffar has been treating me since we met at Hoag Hospital where I had been admitted in December 2017 with pneumonia. For years I have had COPD and emphysema, and I have had half my right lung removed.... in other words a difficult patient. Dr. Gaffar is VERY knowledgeable, a wonderful physician who is gently persuasive in steering one to make good decisions. I resisted pulmonary rehabilitation she suggested, but over the course of 2-3 appointments with her decided to do what she was suggesting. Best thing I've ever done. For me it's a shame she isn't also my family physician and is "only" treating my lungs.....she is just terrific. I couldn't recommend her more to anyone with any pulmonary issue.
Professional and kind. Smart and bound to solve my year long coughing issues, which it turns out were related to asthma and allergies..Other Dr's had suggested cough drops.Mahalo Mubina
We like this doctor every much but can the guy who comes into the room to take notes on the computer be more presentable - unshaven, fashion holes in jeans and a t-shirt?There is casual and there is unprofessional.
Dr. Gaffar is not only a knowledgeable and competent physician, she's readily available to her patients. She is understanding and compassionate regarding the concerns faced with pulmonary issues. Also, her office staff is very helpful and accommodating.
I have had quite a few appointments with Dr. Gsggar. She is an outstanding and caring physician, If we had more physicians like her, the world would be a much better place. I don't know of any MD that is so dedicated to her patients!! I consider myself very fortunate to have her as my physician!!!!!!
She is fantastic...I had been coughing and having trouble breathing..and the doctor I was seeing told me I would have to be on medication for the rest of my life. My friend said you have to see my mother in laws doctor, she is fabulous. I got an appointment and in 3 weeks she found out what was really wrong with me and now I am perfectly fine. She really really helps her patients and goes about an beyond to get them the care they need! She gave me back my life!
Uncaring, unsympathetic, lacks empathy. My husband had a cardiac procedure with pulmonary complications and this horrible doctor tried to force him to schedule an additional appointment to get results for a test citing “office policy”. She refused to disclose the results to him over the phone, even though a patient is entitled to their medical record. This has caused my husband great anxiety and he called her office several times to no avail - they kept telling him he had to come in to see the doctor for an additional appointment. I called her after hours after I got home from work and Dr Gaffar was extremely rude. She has a horrible attitude, no bedside manner. She should not be in the healthcare business since she totally lacks human touch.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
