Dr. Chen is amazing and can help get to the root of the issue vs putting a bandaid on it.
Dr. Chen and Dr. Peng are the most amazing doctors I have ever had. They are Western and Eastern trained. I have been going to them for about 10 years. Dr. Chen has solved so many of my medical problems. So many that western medicine could not help because the drugs were toxic. Asthma is one example. But they will also tell you if you need to go to a Western doctor. I recently went with a horrible swelling of my right eye (I could not open my eye) and face. I would have gone to Urgent Care (and been given steroids), but Dr. Chen fit me in. With one appointment I could open my eye. But she gave me parameters to go to Urgent Care. She gave me herbs and teas - but told me I might have to go to Urgent Care if her parameters were not met. She is beyond amazing. A true healer. I cannot say enough positive things about how she has helped me. I am so lucky.
Wonderful staff! I have been receiving accupuncture from dr Chen for 2+ years. I get occasional migraines, allergies, insomnia, anxiety and depression. I have had great results with doctor Chen and I highly recommend her for anyone who wants to avoid taking medications and promote the body's natural healing.
Amazing 🙈 service 👍 for You to see 🙈 and love ❤️ the Amazing family work together 💞 beautiful and Amazing 😘 love ❤️
Dr. Chen is a gentle, precise, attentive practitioner. I've worked with dozens of doctors on a journey of healing chronic illness, and she has been one of the most helpful. Truly the best acupuncturist I've ever tried. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
I was seeking an alternative treatment to what might be bronchitis and was offered medicinal herbs. Didn’t take long for the symptoms to clear up and I was feeling better without having to resort to antibiotics. They have a caring staff and concern for their patients.
I know this Clinic and its professionals well and have attended this clinic for years. Why, because they're kind, they get results and they want to do well by their patients and by me. They have helped me which is why I go to them. I have freedom of choice and I choose them over others. I own a medical clinic, by the way, so I have history and knowledge that is helpful for others which can be trusted. Everyday Judy has been attentive to my needs. She is an excellent Front Office Manager. She is kind, inviting, is clear on pricing to the best of her ability. I don't use my insurance because I see this as in investment, not an expense. As for the two doctors, they're very well trained, skilled, knowledgeable & kind. My experience has been great and they truly have cared about me in more ways than one. They run their business with high moral standards and in a way that they want to be treated. That is what I want when I seek services. I have no skin in the game to say something good unless it is true and accurate. By that I mean, we don't share patients by referring to each other. I go there for me. I noticed someone's review on 10/2/2019 as a followup to a 9/12/19 review. I would encourage any patron to ignore this type of review because it has no value in your decision-making. That review is inconsistent with my experience at Newport Acupuncture. No one in a clinic setting if they don't own the building have control with a malfunction of an air conditioning system. That can happen at any time and is the Building Owners problem, not the Tenant to resolve and can happen without notice. I have the same situation in my clinic where I don't own the Building and things happen without notice. As far as the flight line goes, my clinic is also in the flight line area, and we don't get complaints about noise. If there was a complaint, the person would be kind. My visits have never been interrupted by plane noise at Newport Acupuncture. I don't even recall hearing plane noise during my visit. There are 100's of healthcare businesses like this in the area. The waterfall sound to me is soothing. I have never heard distracting music. It's not a Clinician's job to know what is covered by a patient's insurance. The clinician doesn't decide where a patient's insurance categorizes the care by the Diagnosis. That is a patient/insurance payor issue. Their willingness to bill insurance is a courtesy when most Clinicians will not bill insurance like my clinic. Because I have owned a Medical clinic for over 30 years, this person's behavior exhibited in the Oct 2 review is more to do with affording or paying for the services. It is not fair nor morally right to take a person's time and want your money back. Healing takes time, and if you TRY 2 VISITS and expect to be healed, well that doesn't make any sense. In my clinic, we will not waste our time on a 1 or 2 visit patient as it puts the clinic in the Red with all the paperwork. This person should be thankful they did allow it for 2 visits. Why? Because they didn't have to but did. I can guarantee you this is persistent behavior and is a lifestyle for this type of person. I have always found this behavior to be horrible and morally wrong by any person in my clinic that attempts this tactic. That said, I applaud Newport Acupuncture for going above and beyond to resolve this issue with this person based on the review that was posted here. So in return for trying to make this patient happy, Newport Acupuncture received 2 stars. Well, that certainly tells the story. Newport Acupuncture was kind, generous and genuinely did their best, and this person felt entitled & took the money. Who did right? Newport Acupuncture. They deserved 4 to 5 stars after providing something to this person that was not required. My comments are MY OWN. I was NOT ASKED to post anything and NOR WAS IT MENTIONED to me by anyone in this clinic or any other. Being in the Healthcare Industry we all abide by HIPAA rules so my knowledge is based on this person's post here, my extensive experience with 1000's of patients over many years and my OWN PERSONAL EXPERIENCE at this clinic. It bothered me to see an unfair representation of this clinic, so I included it in my review so others could make a well-informed decision. My review is 5 stars based on my experience at Newport Acupuncture from the minute I arrive at their clinic to the minute I leave. I'm very proud to be their patient and I'm always excited to have the opportunity to receive their healing gifts which they have worked hard to develop and use to help me. Because of my busy schedule, they always go out of their way to accommodate me. They are all hardworking professionals and the patient comes first. My review is based on many visits that I choose to have. My review is accurate, based on first-hand knowledge, and substantiated with facts from my experience. I hope you take the time to seek their services as they are wonderful!
Update 10/2/2019: After seeing my 1-star review on 9/12/19, Newport Acupuncture called me and offered to refund the $265 I paid for the first two visits if I would update my review. They also acknowledged a problem with their air conditioning system and said they would address it. I applaud their intention to make it right by refunding my $265. However, their treatment environment (air conditioning, jet noise) leaves much to be desired. 2 stars.

This facility lacks the tranquil environment that enhances an acupuncture treatment. To begin with, it is next to the runway of John Wayne Airport. You hear jets taking off during your quiet time when the needles are taking effect. In addition, the air conditioner goes on an off with a distinct roar. When you walk through the office entrance into the reception area, there is a beautiful little waterfall against one wall but you can't hear the soothing effect of trickling water because there is a radio next to it playing hip hop music and blaring commercials. Also, beware of their acceptance of insurance. They initially accepted my insurance (UHC Medicare Advantage Focus Plan) so I went twice. On my third visit they said my insurance did not cover treatment for anxiety (the reason I went) or behavioral issues, only physical pain. They asked me to pay $265 out of pocket for the first 2 visits. I did, and then declined to go forward with the third visit. Above all, the treatments had negligible effects. The less than soothing environment and the confusion over insurance made me seek treatment elsewhere. I received acupuncture treatment 16 years ago for the same anxiety condition and came away feeling much better. My experience at Newport Acupuncture, however, was nothing like that. Overall, a big disappointment.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
