I attempted to schedule an appointment for my 18-week pregnant fiance who just arrived as a new US citizen from a war zone in Africa. Because she could not have electronic medical records sent from her previous MD, she was NOT PERMITTED to become a patient with Dr. Flora. And in case you're wondering, I fully explained our situation...twice! I explained how their policy was indeed absurd, and how surely they cannot think it is okay to turn someone away simply because they aren't able to attain records through no fault of their own. To my amazement, the offices of Dr. Rhonda Flora DID TURN HER AWAY! No explanations offered. I was shocked. I am a doctor myself, and frankly, I don't feel that she deserves the title. Turning a person away because of one's situation is the epitome of what is wrong with the current medical system. Placing exorbitant profiteering based on aesthetic services rather than the welfare of the underprivileged is shameful, in my opinion at least.

Well, despite the 8 women physicians at this office, my fiance was one woman who was not allowed in.

I HATE her EVERYDAY of my life. Thanks to her, I had a severe prolapse. I'm crying everyday regretting chose her as my OB. She broke her promise for doing C section for me and forced me to do vaginal delivery. I know myself and my health conditions, I told her I can't do vaginal delivery buy she didn't care about any of the conditions that I have: Baby had a big head, umbilical cord tightly wrapped around baby's neck, double loops. I had a cyst which she promise to cut it out, diabetes. And she ONLY come to me after I pushed for 3 hours, only when the baby's heart rate drop and she used Vacuum to suck baby out. Very irresponsible, aren't doctors suppose to save lives not to destroy someone's life?

Amazing doctor. Always takes the time to listen to explain anything we had questions on.

She is a nice person. But her skill as an OB is bad. She came to me after I had pushed for 3 hours. I had a second degree tear and she stitched me poorly. It's a mess down there
Not a good doctor for high-risk pregnancy. Based on her price and location you would think Dr. Flora is knowledgeable, but she is not and that is scary. Dr. Flora is a doctor that lucked out... But, don't be fooled.
I think Dr. Flora is absolutely wonderful! However, it takes MONTHS to get in to see her for a well-woman exam.It is also very difficult to get in to any other Newport, Irvine, or south County GYNs. Is this because there are fewer Orange County physicians in that specialty? I do not remember having this problem 20 years ago.I gave up, and had to schedule my mom with a family practitioner.
Dr. Flora herself is wonderful, but my review today is regarding the extremely long wait time. There is now a 6-month waiting period to get in for a pelvic exam or breast exam! That's outrageous! I also tried calling some other area GYNs, but they also had long waits (4 1/2 months) for anyone needing a well-woman exam. I don't know if the ridiculously long wait is due to an increase in the female population of Orange County, or if perhaps there has been a decrease in practicing GYNs in OC due to high insurance premiums, etc.
The WORST Doctor . I am shocked by ANY good reviews of this lady. If your not pregnant then don't bother with her. I had gynelogical pain for years. She was no help whatsoever. Kept saying I have IC after a urologist ruled that out completely. Years later a new OBGYN in Los Angeles , the place where real doctors are, did a few blood tests based on my complaints and diagnosed me with herpes 2 , even though there weren't any sores anywhere, put me on valtrex , and after years of pain , I've been fine for 8 months. Dr flora has no clue about anything other than perhaps a delivery. God for bid u have any other problems.
Dr Flora took amazing care of me and my 3 babies. I trust her completely. She is friendly, thorough and makes good decisions regarding the care of her patients. I wish we didn't move away for this 4th baby! I miss Dr Flora
Dr. Flora is the Best! She made pregnancy and giving birth such a wonderful experience. She delivered all 3 of my boys and always made me so comfortable. She is very caring and always takes time to listen to concerns. She has the perfect balance of experience, knowledge and love for her patients. It was a true blessing to have such a caring doctor deliver my kids.

My doctor (Dr. Karamardian) who shares Dr Flora's practice was unfortunately was out of town when I went into labor with our first son. Dr. Flora was on call at the hospital and couldn't have been sweeter or more motivating during my delivery. Even though it was 5am and I was completely exhausted after 16 hours in labor, she was bubbly, open and made me feel like super woman! My husband and I loved her and wouldnt have wanted anyone else there to take over for our doctor but Dr. Flora. I highly recommend Dr Flora, Dr. Karamardian and all of the other doctors/staff in the Newport OBGYN practice. They are great!
Dr. Flora and her staff are very nice and helpful. She is very friendly and spends time at every appointment. She has delivered my two babies and both were long and difficult deliveries. However, she made me feel comfortable and took good care of me and my babies.
Her new nurse is rude and condescending. I am pregnant and aware that my urine is supposed to be tested. She never tests it, yet Dr Flora always says the nurse charted the results. Her old nurse Lori Ann was very sweet and helpful. I don't know the name of the new nurse, but she bad mouths other office staff to me, as well as making undesirable remarks about Dr Flora. I feel Dr Flora should take an interest in her patients opinion of her office staff. All the women in the waiting roomed always raved about Lori. When most of your time dealing with an office is spent with the staff, not the doctor, it makes it hard to stay when the office lets the good ones go, and replaces them with uncaring and incompetent employees. I am transferring out of the practice.
