Matthew Root's Online Review Report Card

He went above and beyond to help my boyfriend. My boyfriend had gotten into a really bad motorcycle accident and wasn’t the easiest patient to deal with especially when Northridge hospital conveniently forgot to send over the prescriptions he was supposed to be released for pain management to the pharmacy. Dr Root received a call from hospital staff after I showed them the discharge papers and what the pharmacy gave me (which was just something to prevent an infection on several open wounds). Anyways the patient file was transferred to Dr Root who worked to help us after hours to ensure that the pharmacy was able to fill the correct prescriptions. And remember how I said my bf wasn’t easy to deal with as a patient? No matter how many dosage or medication changes my bf felt he needed Dr Root was always there with open ears ready to offer helpful choices until we no longer needed his help. Best experience I’ve ever had with any doctor I’ve ever encountered. He truly cares.

He was my former Pain Management whom I trusted 100%.

Shame... Just a shame I felt at the moment when this "dr" said to me after our conversation: "I don`t know why you are here..." What?!!! Seriously? Why he is saying it, but am I ashamed of him? The reason to come to the office was to get an MRI report, to make a comparison with previous MRI images, and found out about the differences during the last 1,5 years. I called the office with the simple question:" is "dr." Root able to read MRI or he just reads written reports? I was assured he is able to, but there was already some hesitation at the receptionist`s voice in the beginning. SO, I came into the office 15 min prior to an appointment to give them my MRI discs. I emailed them the files a week prior, but because they couldn`t read them without software, I was asked to bring disks with me. I brought, and waited for 40 min without any action from their side because the "dr." was late for his job. The nurse did her routine and I gave her my MRI disks. She came back saying they still d

Because "dr". root doesn`t really know what he is doing, he "danced" around with common phrases about a spine and nerves without giving me the information I really came for, and in 30-ish min he said that he doesn`t have time to discuss my MRI. When I said that that was the MAIN reason to come, he responded: " I don`t know why you came here!". I was shoсked! He started to go in and out of the room, pretending to be looking for someone. He didn't know where to put himself. I repeated him again that the point of coming here was an assurance to get a competent conclusion. So, the "dr" root responded :"I don`t know what do you want, I don`t have time for you, maybe come next time and we take a look at the MRI..." Mr. "dr." root is absolutely pointless and pathetic person, who deliberatly takes your money for nothing, and knowing there is no responsibilty of his actions or non-actions. I wish I could report to the insurance about the doctors they work with...

DR Root used to be a wonderful DR.However Covid Has taught him he can do nothing and he is still paid using virtual visits. My pain has gotten much worse and he is not offering any new solutions, He is always late to my virtual appointment and then rushes me, He also does not listen well. I shared with him why I take a medication. After the third time he suddenly had hie own "revelation" in educating me. DR Root just repeating what I told him. He down plays how much pain I am in. He actually told me I needed to just get used to because of my SLE Lupus. I do not expect to be in no pain but this pain is very bad. I was used to living in so much pain even as a child that I thought that it was normal until a very good pain management DR told me that it was not. When I have a appointment with him, I feel no hope.

Very compassionate, took time to explain the cause root of my pain , performed injections, the wait was very short , very happy with his services

Once again all the staff at Innovative Pain Spine have gone above and beyond to assist me with my chronic spine injuries. The staff: Doctor Root (of course), but also Darla, Jazmine, Hanna, & Tracey have been so helpful, patient, kind, & understanding with my frequent calls & questions. I could not wish for better service & assistance, I'm just so relieved to have found such incredible health care during this difficult time, they have made it possible for me to continue with my work, life, and everything. Thank you all.

I was so impressed with his knowledge and has given me hope that although his office is much farther than the clinic he goes to twice a week(I saw him there ) I am much more willing to driive longer to get the best care I can. I have already made an appointment

Dr. Root is a compassionate, knowledgeable and excellent doctor. He listened to my concerns, examined me and helped me come up with a plan in order to move forward. I am so grateful to have found him.
