While Dr. Collins is no longer the pediatrician for my 3 children, due to the fact that we moved out of the state, he was for many years. Honestly during that time we felt extremely blessed to have him overseeing their care. And to this day he has remained the favorite of all of my children. Its astonishing to me when I see poor reviews for him. What some refer to as no bedside manner I guess I see as someone who doesnt beat around the bush, delivering what needs to be said. I always appreciated his ability to be honest and forthcoming. He also was very engaging with my children. If I was in the hospital for one child he knew exaclty who we are and would include my other children in our conversation. He was a huge advocate for my middle child when she needed a specialist. And helped ensure we received proper diagnosis. They never forgot Dr. Collins and neither have I as a mother. He is the best of the best.
My sons met Dr Collins when they were for 2-1/2yo & 4mos. Now, at 19-1/2yo & 17yo, my boys are kind of bummed they’ve “aged out” and have to find who will care abt them nearly as much as Dr Collins has.
WOW, surprised to see all the negative reviews. I think he's the best pediatrician at Sutter in Fairfield,Ca. He has been my childrens doctor for the past 15+ years. He politely jokes with my 3 boys who all like him. my daughter likes him too. He explains everything in a easy to understand way. He can be hesitant on new drugs that haven't been well tested, which is great as my children are not test dummies. He's friendly and very knowledgeable. He will easily give a referral to a specialist if you needed it. I've received follow up phone calls from him and his nurse Frances many times. My kids have seen other doctors on rare occasions and none have made me want to switch over. So, 5 stars to you Dr. Collins.
Dr. Collins Is by far the worst Dr. I have experienced seeing. He is so unwelcoming and condesending. We had a visit with him because our primary Dr. was unavailable. My 2 year old was crying in the office and Dr. Collins was annoyed and he made condescending remarks. It was so uncomfortable for us to be in his office. If he can't handle crying children then why is he a pediatric Dr.?!
Dear Sutter Medical Group, Seriously, how do you pick your doctors? I recently took my daughter to Dr. Collins I had the worst experience ever. Starting with the nurse that has no bedside manners and ending with the doctor who wants to put my kid on medication when she was not showing no signs of bacterial infection. And when I showed him the immunization card, Dr. gave her 2 extra shots because he claims that the previous shot were given too soon and they are ineffective. I will never go again.
Horrible bedside manner. Did not listen to parents concerns. Very rude and disrespectful towards parents. Refused to thoroughly check out child based on his opinions of what was going on with child. Child has extensive medical history to which Dr Collins did not review in chart and made very disrespectful comments about child's med history and how her specialists treat her illness. Most unfriendly dr we have ever seen! Would never take my child back to him, nor would we ever recommend him!!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
