Very friendly staff
Dr. La Porte is very attentive and caring. He discussed my status with my urology doctor immediately and requested appointment to be extended with urologist same day when it was lapsing; showed utmost care; highly recommending him.
I had my first infusion today. Veronica was helpful and friendly at the front desk. I had a 2:00 appointment. I arrived early. No wait time. They took me in 15 minutes early. Ozzy the technician was fabulous. She made me feel comfortable and relaxed. All of the staff were positive and upbeat. The infusion was seamless even though I have tricky veins.I had my first infusion today. Veronica was helpful and friendly at the front desk. I had a 2:00 appointment. I arrived early. No wait time. For someone who hears the words " you have cancer" world starts spinning in different way. It's very important to have a doctor who is on your side. Who is supportive and ready to answer your questions to their best knowledge. My initial doctor was brilliant Dt. Tang, REALLY BRILLIANT, who I had to mention, (he works with Leavey Cancer Center) but after my cancer went into remission my insurance company decided that I need to be with different oncologist (I'll never understand how this insurance bureaucrats work) The Oncology Institute in Northridge (which is across the Leavey Cancer Center by the way lol) is specializing in, yes- oncology. The office has 4 doctors, they all have impressive backgrounds. Dr. Paul La Porte, is my doctor, who is very knowledgeable and caring, although sometimes can comes across as little cocky like some doctors are lol, but overall knowledgeable and caring, in my experience. It is very crucial to have a good relationship and great level of comfort with your oncologist, and I believe with your doctors in general. I was very nervous when I had to (well more like forced to) change my oncologist. But after meeting Dr. La Porte, I felt that I can rest assure that I am still in good hands. The office is clean and nice. The staff is polite. You come in, sign in and wait. Chairs now are comfortably set up so people are not in each other's face, which is very important when you are already vulnerable and more susceptible to COVID virus, fu and cold, since you are immunocompromised. Check up rooms are clean and cozy, with nice art work hanging on the walls, which is a nice destruction, not letting you focus only on medical information, and trust me you have lots of that, comes with the condition. Also, what I like about Dr. La Porte is he is friendly, easy to talk to, does answer his texts and emails, if I have any questions or concerns. He does provide me with my test results ahead of my appointment time when applicable, so If I have questions I'll have time to prepare and ask. My own experience here is good, but the waiting time is what makes me give them 3 stars.I do not wish upon anyone to hear those words ever, and may you stay Blessed. But if you ever hear that, please do not loose hope, do not stop fighting, believe, stay strong and positive and with the help of great oncologists, their team, your friends and family, you are a winner. Blessings to all.

This office is so nice. The office staff is efficient, polite, and extremely helpful. The nurse was very accommodating and willing to adjust his tasks to fit my comfort level in any way possible. Dr. Gonzalez was very nice and knowledgeable. She explained everything that she did to me and also helped to alter my medication in my best interest. I was very impressed with her knowledge base. I will definitely be going back to this office. This office is so nice. The office staff is efficient, polite, and extremely helpful. Avoid Dr. Gopurala. He is Indian and doesn't speak English well. Very difficult to understand. Read my mom's chart wrong, and he said she had cancer on her lip when it was on her eye lid. He was not attentive and actually dismissive. Asked a couple of questions and left. Was wearing slip on sandals with not socks like he was at home. Terrible.Avoid Dr. Gopurala. Worst management, actually there is no management. Going there is like trapping in endless maze. Nobody cares. The same nonsense scenario every time you step there. Don't waste your time and don't jeopardize your health. I withstood almost two years to see if something enhances or changes, but it never happens. Enough!

I want to write this review hoping that someone can do something about the personal there!I was referred to this oncology institute by my primary doctor because of a severe case of anemia! When I started there I was the most deceptively experience , they let you wait, I guess they forgot about their patients, then when I requested to switch doctors, got doctor La Porte, I thought this is really good , finally someone cares about your case, but then I bounce to the office people and I got lost in paper work about insurance and a chaos, a disappointment because now I can’t get my treatment because they decided not to go the extra mile for a patient! The nurses treated me like another hassle, once this girl left one needle open while she could get the other piece of the medication and there was blood sprinkled all over the pillow!Other time she let the other nurse practice on me and the other poor girl was so nervous that she had it to tried three times. So, I’m in the need of a second treatment but they just let me down to my insurance confusing!I hope and God forbid that these people never get in the need of this kind of treatments and their life’s don’t depends on bureaucracy! Please, please know that all of this patients comes to this place in their last hope , desperation and many times almost dying! Please have mercy🙏🏼I want to write this review hoping that someone can do something about the personal there!I was referred to this oncology institute by my primary doctor because of a …More
