List of Coast Plaza Hospital's Reviews
I wished I would have seen the reviews before bringing him to this hospital. I brought my husband when he got sick. The first nurse we encountered seemed genuinely concerned with his health but after that, it just seemed like, for the rest of the staff, it was just another day at the office and another sick person in their way. My husband was hospitalized there for 13 days. And when I would try to speak to anyone about his health none of the nurses knew anything! I would go visit him every day and every time I would find him with his gown and sheets dirty. I had to ask the nurses every day to change him. He even fell, face first, trying to go to the bathroom because of course they didn’t provide a bedpan or anything, and gashed his forehead. When that happened they called me only asking me irrelevant questions never mentioning his fall. He would also say that every time the nurses had to tend to him they would be upset at him. He passed away in that horrific hospital. And to pour salt on my wounds this hospital doesn’t even have a morgue. They were constantly calling me the very day he passed telling me to pay a morgue to pick up his remains. I have never dealt with something like this and didn’t have any idea or money to spare for a morgue. And now as I sit here sobbing for my loss I can’t help but think they didn’t give him the urgency his deteriorating health needed. They took too long to do a test on him and even longer to get those results back. He died of sepsis, which, makes it seem that they weren’t even giving him the right treatments. They didn’t save his life just waited for him to die. Whatever the situation might have been, if, as a nurse and a doctor, your priority isn’t your patients then you’re in the wrong profession and should quit immediately and stop endangering the lives of innocent sick, and needy people for a paycheck. Rest In Peace, my love! I hope now you’re in a better place away from this cruel world.
Got my first surgery and was cared for really well. My nurses were really kind and caring towards me and my pain. Surgery went well and went home feeling great I appreciate my surgeon and nurse who cared for me :D
I do not know how this place maintains its license. I have removed my 89 year old mother from the "hospital" today because I feared that their incompetence, ineptness, and dishonesty might literally kill my mother. This place excludes the family and power of attorney, makes decisions without consulting the family or power of attorney, refuses to communicate with family and power of attorney, does not accept, much less ask, for history of the patient, and the way I would describe the place is a converted auto repair shop ran by children counting all the cookies they are receiving and somehow getting away with it despite its filth, corruption, no management on site, and spurious doctor presence (none or almost none at anytime, much less any director of nurses, ceo, or anybody above the so-called "social worker." They answer their external AND internal phones rudely, always frantic, and everyone, from nurses, to receptionists, are inarticulate, non-English-speaking, or ego-driven arrogant rude individuals. My entire family has dealt with several hospitals, we have several medical professionals in our families from doctors (plural) to registered nurses, and we have NONE OF US found a shabbier, more marginal, operation than this - - they tried to bump our designation of hospice to one of their preferred players which I am guessing involves kick-backs but the trickery failed.... they tried to prevent me from visiting my mother - or from taking her out of the facility for bogus reasons.... they lied to me on many occasions - and I am going to report them to the health department and have JCAHO investigate their operations. We did not choose this place and that itself is dubious - my mother having been sent to Lakewood Regional Hospital but for some never stated reason, was diverted to the much further - much much further, small, clinic-like "hospital" that we had never heard of and which I believe should be closed down now. Stay away.UPDATED: Less than 24 hours after removing our mother from the hospital she died. At no time did the hospital seem to have, or, at least use, the equipment our mother needed for breathing assistance, they attempted to hold her longer - and to exclude family - by doing a bogus Covid test when she had just had Covid three weeks before - and most notably, we left several messages for the pulmonologist assigned and overseeing our mother on her last day at the hospital, who reportedly was going to see her and did see her hours before her ultimate release, and the pulmonologist NEVER called us, never advised us, and simply ignored our calls. BAD BAD BAD. No management on duty when we were there at anytime, no director nurses, CEO of nurses, supervising nurses. STAY AWAY! We are reporting them to the health department.
If you care for your family, do not take them to this house of horrors hospital. My elderly father was taken there by ambulance because he contracted Covid. He as released still having pneumonia. Staff is inadequate. It’s like pulling teeth when you call to get an update. This place needs to be shut down!
So Rude front office and nurses ,, no doctor to check ... after 2 hours waiting ,, doctor just ask about the pain area in the front office and just write antibiotic !!And I knew that it was wrong medicine ,, nurses so rude ,, This is the worst place ever !! ,, and of course I'm gonna submit an official complaint on board ... Especially I have the Documents which prof the situation with them !!
My grandpa was admitted into the hospital 20 days ago from a problem with his intestine. On the third day he received surgery, but that's not the problem. After the surgery to refused to give him food for days. He was starved, and they didn't say anything. He begged us to give him food and so we asked the nurse if we can feed him and she said that he refuses to eat, we then gave him a bowl of soup and fed him and he ate it all. It's not that he won't eat it, his body isn't capable of feeding himself. This continued until about 5 days ago when worse problems came about. His stomach started getting worse again, and he went 4 days without pooping and they didn't say a single word to us. They didn't give him medication until the 4th day of him screaming in agony and begging for medicine and vomiting non stop. At last they gave him medicine but he's already in the same conditions as in when he entered. The service sucks, this is by far the worst hospital i have ever seen and I would not recommend this to anybody. If I could rate this less than a 1 I would
On Sunday 01/09/22 around 11:15pm I checked myself into Coast Plaza hospital in Norwalk CA. I have chronic migraines and this one had been happening for over three days. I could no longer function because of how excruciating the pain had become. I waited about two hours to finally have a nurse take my vitals. Then I waited a little longer for the doctor to finally show up. I hadn't been taken inside the ER room this was all happening outside of the sliding doors they have. Outside in the open where other patients where. The doctor an older caucasian male, Micheal Stone approached me with a very nonchalant attitude about my situation. He stated he had seen my records and I had been at this hospital for migraines before. Because it was a chronic condition Dr.Stone said he would not give me any IV medication because I needed to see a neurologist. With tears in my eyes I explained to the Dr how excruciating my pain was and that I had a neurologist appointment but it wasn't until April. He shrugged his shoulders and said he could offer me a norco or a tramadol injection or an advil. I was stunned, there was absolutely no remorse in his tone or in his facial expression. I told him I had all of those medications at home and non of them were working hence why I was at the hospital. He continuously said he would not give me any IV medicine. As I shed tears I explained to him how this pain was no longer bearable and I needed his help. I told him I had two young children at home and I could no longer function. He carelessly once again shrugged his shoulders as if what I was telling him was not his problem. I sat there in tears holding my head and just felt absolutely helpless. He showed no remorse, he was not an ounce empathetic about my situation. He proposed to give me advil... when I've had a migraine for over 3 days. If any of you know what a migraine feels like then you can understand my pain. I didn't ask him to cure me because I know there's no cure for a migraine but I thought an ER was suppose to help ease the pain. Dr. Stone didn't even bother doing any type of neurological test with his hands, he didn't bother checking my heart palpitations. Dr. Stone looked bothered that I was at the ER at 1am seeking help for something I had absolutely no control over. Micheal Stone made me feel as if I was seeking drugs or as if I was an addict. He made me feel as if this was a child throwing a tantrum. I was humiliated, I was neglected any sort of help. I was helpless and In so much pain I walked out of the ER with tears in my eyes and this excruciating pain. I had to drive a few miles to the nearest ER to ask someone else for help. I was finally given the help I so desperately asked Micheal Stone at Norwalk Coast Hospital for. I was given the Iv treatment he repeatedly refused to give me. I was monitored for over an hour at this other hospital and I was given fluids due to the dehydration I had experienced all due to this migraine. I tried contacting Norwalk Coast Plaza hospital to speak with a director or even a manager and unfortunately no one has returned my calls. This is why I've decided to file this complaint. Dr. Stone needs to be accountable for his negligence, this may have been a chronic condition but I begged him for his help. I was a patient is desperate need of some relief and he refused to give it. No one else deserves to experience this treatment from someone who expect to help and care for us. No one deserves to experience the humiliation I experienced with Dr. Micheal Stone.
I mean, where do I start? HOW THE HELL IS THIS PLACE OPEN?? This facility should be shut down immediately. Stay away from this "hospital". And let me just say that if you're unfortunate enough to be taken to the This hospital, you CAN NOT be transferred out. You're stuck there with useless "doctors" and "nurses". Seeking legal and media help HOPING we can bring to light the horrid "service" here.
They always help me so quick the most I’ll be in there for is 2 hours which time go by quick . It’s usually never bussy .
I just want to know how this place is still up and running. Everyone who goes here ends up dying. It’s literally known as a death trap. Even their old workers call it that and had to quit because this place was horrific. I suggest you all choose a different hospital to go to another hospital in order to get care. There are so many lost souls here.
