Irene Teper's Online Review Report Card

I was new to the community, 5 years ago, when a medical school colleague recommended Dr. Teper. She has been my PCP for 5 years now, and my wife's PCP. She is reachable and prompt in addressing our concerns, and her referrals have, always, been physicians of competence and quality. Her staff, likewise, functions to coordinate care, and prescriptions are promptly refilled. Best, she epitomizes the very best qualities of the profession, at a time when medicine is becoming increasingly industrialized. Her 5 stars are earned! I know a great physician when I see one.... I've been a physician for 59 years.

Dr. Teper was my physician for over a decade.  I requested to switch dr.s because of her advocacy of unsafe sex due to the fact her son got herpes as a baby at daycare and "it's no big deal".  She then changed my thyroid prescription to a NAME BRAND without seeing me, talking to me, testing me.  I had been safely on the generic for decades.  She claimed the new medication was identical. It is not. The fillers are different and I had a severe allergic reaction which literally crippled me for months. Her response to this was to fire me as a patient, make it so no other dr in the practice would advise me, she refused to refill my old, safe prescription until I found a new dr. She does NOT care about her patients and seems to have a God complex which is severely unhealthy for any physician.  I've heard from nurses in the area that she has "made the same mistakes" with other patients.  Unfortunately the AMA will do nothing unless they receive multiple complaints against the same dr.  STEER CLEAR if you care about your health.

Irene has been my primary physician for 14 years. I couldn't ask for a better one. Her memory is encyclopedic. If she doesn't know something, she will research it. She has a great bedside manner and is efficient to the extreme. I recommend her without reservation.

Dr. Teper is simply the best. She cared for my mom for many years before her passing. Not only is she very knowledgeable, she brings with her a human touch and compassionate approach as a physician. Can't say enough good things about Dr. Teper.

I have been a patient of Dr. Teper's for over 10 years and she is by far the worst physician I have ever had. She is a terrible diagnostician. I pointed out a spot under my eye and instead of recommending I see a dermatologist she quickly said it was nothing more than an age spot that is traveling down my face. I asked her if she was sure and she said yes. I wasn't comfortable and pressed her, explaining that it was painful to the touch and would swell. She stuck with her original diagnosis. I finally sought out a dermatologist about 1 year and was diagnosed with stage 1b melanoma. She is very irresponsible and should not be trusted.

Dr. Teper is wonderful! She is very thorough, thoughtful, and a good listener. She is great at following through and returning phone calls. I feel very blessed to have found her!

I  have known Dr Teper for many years, and was our primary care physician for both my late husband and myself.  As a medical person I can attest that this doctor is first rate.  She's extremely knowledgeable and completely thorough in her care.  Whoever this was that posted the poor review should have talked with Dr Teper about her staff.  I've never had a problem with them, and when one treats people with respect you get it back.  This person should have reviewed sites on the internet, and then made her own judgement about where to go.  Such negativity is hard to believe of Doctor Teper

Dr Teper is the best physician that any patient could ask for, she is timely, warm, listens with patience and only prescribes tests that are absolutely necessary for each individual. Dr Teper is one of the very best Internal Medicine Physicians in Marin County.
