Ervin Epstein's Online Review Report Card

I initially in past started seeing Dr Epstein Sr. Both Dr.s R the very best. They really know their talents.

About a year or so ago I made my first appointment with Dr. Epstein for age related skin problems. I am in my 70s. He examined me and announced Youre too old to treat unless you have a young woman. He further informed me that all of my unsightly age related skin problems were harmless. This is the most flagrant age discrimination that I have experienced from a doctor. In my opinion Dr. Epstein should not be practicing medicine. I will also note that his examination room was dirty and worn and I observed multiple insects crawling in the floor.

Great place

I was seen quickly. All staff were very polite and professional. My voice was heard. I was listened to and supported. It was clean and quaint. My procedure was scheduled quickly and with respect to my schedule. I was given multiple options and not just advised to have an unnecessary expensive procedure.

Dr. Epstein is the worst doctor I have ever seenrude arrogant condescending and borderline senile. His appointment staff however was great when I described my horrible meeting with the doctor they just rolled their eyes like theyd heard it all before. AVOID THIS MAN.

My husband and I have been going to see Dr. E for many years. He is a great physician and person. He is thorough with checking both of us for any skin cancers and he makes us crack up laughing every time I would recommend him to any one who wants an experienced derm who really cares about his patients and the staff at his office is incredible.

I had already been diagnosed with a skin condition by two dermatologists prior to him and just wanted to see a doctor who was in my neighborhood. He actually couldnt see my condition the first time I showed him and when I pointed it to him he misdiagnosed it. He also cracked some weird pregnancy fatshaming joke while I was there. The waiting room is also the most cramped tiny space Ive ever seen in a medical building. Nothing about my experience was good.

I saw him a year ago for a small thing and I mixed up my time he went way out of his way to accommodate me. And was clearly very knowledgeable as well as pleasant. I top choice in the East Bay.

Dr. Epstein's days of practicing medicine need to come to an end. He spent the entire visit in the Lafayette office asking me about my sex life. After about 20 minutes, I asked him, "Don't you want to look at the lesion I came in here for?" He begrudgingly looked at the lesion on my back and said, "Well, it's red." Of course it's red. I could see that myself. I didn't need to pay anyone and sit in a cramped waiting room for 20 minutes to hear that my lesion was red. How about a diagnosis? He said, "If it gives you any trouble, come back in. And, next time, wear something else, young lady." There was no nurse present and I was not completely comfortable with the way he touched me. Even at this stage of my life (a grandmother) I was creeped out by this visit and feel I must warn others. Now I have an entire back full of basal cell carcinoma because of this negligence. If it had been caught in time, when it was a small lesion, I would not be going through the pain and disfigurement I am experiencing right now. He didn't really look at it. Did not biopsy it. Just made me feel like I had been violated.
