List of Pathways Home Health & Hospice's Reviews
I am very unsatisfied with the care my father is recieving. I order medications and don't recieve them. Several times nurses show up when they feel like it not weekly or at a scheduled time. They act like they are trying but simply can't get it together. communication or scheduling is a shit show, not sure exactly what the issue is. Seems like a bunch of people who simply aren't qualified to do their jobs. I would of had less grief and head aches if they weren't in the picture. Using pathways will result in your dying family member not getting the care they deserve. Please go elsewhere! I was reccomend by the VA. I will be calling them also to communicate my dissapointment because it makes me sick to know that people who have done so much for our country in the last fase of life are getting the bottom of the barrel treatment.
Had wonderful two weeks of care after hip replacement surgery. 6 sessions of physiotherapy were excellent and incredibly beneficial. Occupational therapy analysis of my home was very thorough. Nurses were compassionate and informed. A wonderful home care team that encourages you on leaving hospital.
I strongly -- without any reservation -- recommend Pathways as a hospice provider. My family's experience with Pathways was excellent in every way.The staff was caring and attentive. Their visits to my mother were frequent, and we were grateful for the regular and comprehensive updates they provided. When my mother entered the final stages of her life, Pathways sent "vigil" volunteers to sit with my mother when family couldn't be there. They read to her, played music (even sang) and listened to her talk about her life. They made her life better. After my mother's death (February 2019) Pathways contacted us several times to offer individual counseling, support groups and other assistance as we grieve. Before we chose Pathways we had a truly horrible experience using a major organization's hospice "care." The comparison between the two made it clear exactly how good Pathways is.I recommend that everyone -- as we did with Pathways -- have an extensive conversation about expectations, specific services to be provided, medication, etc. Clarifying details gives you a metric for judging the level of care delivered.Pathways met and exceeded our expectations.
I 100% agree with Mr Conklin below. It is too late to change companies for my mom is very critical right now, but do yourself a favor and find another company. Their philosophy about compassionate care is BS. They do what is convenient for them, not for you and your family. And they also use “if it were MY family member..” quite often. No one cares what YOU would do, this is MY mother and OUR choices. They are BS period. Do not go with them!

When my husband's cousin fell ill at our home just before she was scheduled to go into an assisted living facility we called Pathways for help. They registered us and immediately out sent a hospice nurse to our home. She was the first impression we had of Pathways and she was on the job, no-nonsense, tracking down a pharmacy that was open late and getting the pain medications that our cousin badly needed. Pathways staff knew what was needed before we did. Each succeeding staff person, from RN, Home Health Aid, Spiritual Counselor and Social Worker were professional, compassionate, sensitive and informed. They knew exactly what to do and when to discuss the next steps with us. It relieved us of all details and allowed us to be with our cousin while she passed. This was unchartered territory for us and we would have been lost and upset if we had not had this wonderful agency to help us. We cannot praise them enough for their kindness and care. Even at the end when our cousin passed the spiritual counselor was there with us and it was as if they had been sent by angels to look over our her. We wanted to thank them with this review and encourage anyone else who is looking for hospice care to contact them and use their services. You will be so relieved and happy you did.
I find the staff in the East Bay office to be truly amazing and highly compassionate people.

Pathways was recommended to me by the San Carlos Elms, where my mom lived, and I'm very grateful. Mom had been making frequent hospital visits which were difficult on her both emotionally and physically; Pathways provided an alternative which helped mom stay happy and (relatively) healthy. Pathways was fantastic about supplying equipment that mom needed, from wheelchairs to accommodate her changing needs, to oxygen tanks, and more. The staff was always friendly and forthcoming with information. I mostly dealt with Karen but would also like to specifically call out Keri Ann for being an amazing nurse the week before mom's passing. I appreciated being able to communicate with staff via phone or email, in addition to frequently seeing them on site.Thank you to Pathways for making a difficult time more smooth and easy to deal with. It is much appreciated!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
