Amber Leis's Online Review Report Card

Beware of AMBER LEIS she's racist and committed malpractice on me! I was referred to Dr. Tran in Westminster because AMBER LEIS couldn't stop her discrimination and harassment towards me, once I was in Dr Tran's office who happens to be a classmate of her he's the first one who explained how AMBER LEIS committed gross malpractice by doing a brachial plexus surgery on me by transferring a non working nerve to my neck while all the time AMBER LEIS was full aware it was a non working nerve and by this she knew the surgery was doomed to failure but she cut me open anyways because is a trauma hospital and by law she was bound to do something! Her privilege and entitlement makes me sick and her gross malpractice on me will not go unanswered!

Had a surgery done on my arm by Dr. Leis in late 2017. I tried living with it for 5 years and not complain much because the UCI medical franchise has a whole legal team for matters like this. Spoke with Victor at the reception line who transferred my call to, Shellie, the manager who instructed me to send all my complaints to “patient experience” telephone service. From there they will cross reference my complaint with my medical records ;to my observation; in lieu of hoping that a complaining patient would get the “Medical Legalese” incorrect to then use it against the patient in the event of a legal pursuit. I believe UCI medical’s marketing practices along with the practices of its clinicians to be predatory. She claims to be an “advocate” for her patients. I put my body on the line for her practice and UCI medical over a 22 plus hour surgery and my comment gets deleted?!

Dr. Amber Leis has gathered a first rate of care-givers in her Orange, CA office. I had two operations on my hands, and both went extremely well--I am now living pain free after many years.There is such an atmosphere of caring, concern, and support at this office, and Dr. Leis' has a wonderfully warm and compassionate manner, accompanied with the highest level of professionalism. On December 2019, Dr. Leis did a fantastic job performing a surgery on my right hand palm to remove a growing blood bobble which apparently resulted as an injury to my hand and was bothering me a lot. Dr. Leis appeared to me knowledgeable, professional, patient caring, charming and friendly. I felt obligated to share my good experience with others who may seek her expertise. Bo Ghorban

It's been a few years since my last surgery with Dr. Leis but my experience was so good that when i stumbled across her again online through an unrelated search for a dr i felt like i had to write a review. I originally contacted Dr Leis solely to remove glass pieces from my arm from a prior motorcycle accident. I also had large skin grafts on both my arms from the same incident but thats not why i made the visit. She saw them and made the comment that she could reduce the size of them. NOT ONE doctor i encountered during my hospital ordeal and after ever told me about this possibility, and i saw a LOT of doctors. She had her staff run my insurance and we booked the first surgery. Fast forward a year and Dr Leis took me through 5 surgeries. She is incredibly kind, and after interacting with her for only a few minutes its easy to discern her passion and SKILL. People used to stare at my arms and then quickly look away awkwardly if i gazed their way. Now, I wear short sleeves and literally one person every six months is keen enough to be able to notice scars on my arms. I cant think of any words that do anywhere close to justice for the praise she deserves as a doctor and person

Our son had a severe accident to four digits on his left hand and we could not have been more blessed that Dr Leis was on-call the evening he required surgery. She, and her team, have been absolutely amazing from through surgery and our healing process. She has amazing bedside manner and is clear and realistic in our days following surgery. Thank you!!! Can I just say THANK YOU to the folks at UCI Aesthetic & Plastic Surgery, most specifically, Dr. Amber Leis and her fine staff! I feel so blessed to have found such a compassionate and skilled medical support team! My goodness how far we have come from 30 years ago when I heard these words, over a telephone conversation from my surgeon, "I'm sorry. You have cancer." Primary on my mind was survival, for I had my 2 year old "treasure", my son, whom I had to fight for my life and live for! But you know us survivors rarely take time to stop and contemplate on all of the ramifications of this disease. We just kick into gear and go! I was told in 1990 to go ahead and get the breast reconstruction. The bedside manners of my surgeons and limited scope of technology and protocol were so very limited back then. Goodness, internet was just a burgeoning thing! So with each passing year, following bilateral mastectomies and 6 grueling months of chemotherapy, I eventually overcame significant milestones of remission, thanks be to God! But recently, I took a long, hard look at my misshapen and somewhat deformed and asymmetrical breasts. I thought if I was able to survive the fears and anxiety of my original diagnosis of breast cancer, survive all the surgeries and treatments, survive the birth of a second child (my "miracle" baby conceived after my last round of chemo), survive the shame and pain of being told my scars were "HIDEOUS" and emerge from all this as a VICTOR rather than a VICTIM, then why not start researching about what I could do now to enhance my TOTAL SENSE OF WELL-BEING and feeling of complete wholeness- mind, body and soul? So fast forward, I came to meet and soon became friends with Dr. Amber Leis, UCI Dept. of Plastic Surgery Asst. Clinical Professor and Board Certified Reconstructive Plastic Surgeon. Dr. Leis is equipped with such a wealth of intelligence and skill coupled with that rare quality of humility often missing from such expertise. I was so impressed with the skills, competence and knowledge that Dr. Leis possessed and embraces with gracious humility and com + passion for her chosen profession! I feel so blessed that while I got to stay in a private suite at UCI Douglas Hospital, (because that's how they're set up there!), just knowing that UCI Health plastic surgeons are nationally regarded experts in the latest techniques, including free tissue transfer which is part of the procedure I had done during my 8 hour surgery.My journey of hope and recovery over the course of my 63 years has been about DIGNITY, AWARENESS, EDUCATION, INFORMATION and INDIVIDUAL CHOICES! All of these were provided to me by Dr. Leis and her staff. When you are coping with the diagnosis of that "C" word, not only are you faced with the emotional, physical and mental ramifications of this disease, but now you must also arm yourself with a strong, capable and supportive medical team to help you through your battle for quality of life. It is not an easy task to find the right doctor who empathizes with your plight and also has the skills to help you feel "whole" again. I am so happy and satisfied with the outcome of my second reconstructive surgery! My self-esteem and confidence has been boosted over the top and I no longer hide in shame, but walk and stand proudly as a 31 year breast cancer survivor who proactively made intelligent choices and acted as the biggest advocate for herself!!To all cancer survivors -- I salute you, my favrite, all-time warriors and survivors who continually inspire me with your inner strength, grace, beauty and spirit!!!
