List of Ashok J. Kar's Reviews
I saw Dr Kar many years ago for structures after a few dialation procedure I've had 4 urinary tract infections. I am still profoundly grateful at the quick decisive treatment plan and how well it worked. The previous Dr I was seeing had me on daily antibiotics for yes.....2 years. Dr Kar one treatment no more issues and we did a few more to make sure all the scar tissue was completely broken up. I also learned that as a woman a urologist needs to have a patient base of females. His was about 50/50 at that to.e. a females urology issues are completely different than a man. I know common sense but I was originally seeing someone else who just prescribed antibiotics for a uncontrolled UTI. At the end of the day a simple stricture dilation fixed issue. 20 years late I've had few than 3 UTI. Thank you Dr Kar
Dr. Kar treated my prostate cancer in 2018. He walked me through all of my treatment options, surgery, radiation, and HIFU. It was nice to be able to speak to a urologist who was so knowledgeable about all of them. Dr. Kar was always available to answer my questions. Three years later I am cancer free and doing great. Anyone who gets treated by Dr. Kar will be in great hands.
I am a patient of Dr Pravin Sharma ...on my last exam he found traces of blood and “some kind of abnormally “ and suggested I make an appointment with your office ... I have called early in the am ... not open ... around noon .... office closed ... and later ... office closed ... so I’d like to make an appointment ASAP...no symptoms.
We loved this doctor. He did a “family planning” procedure on my husband and it went extremely well! His advice was great, the procedure was successful and all is well at our house! We recommend him.
I am not sure why Dr. Kar had no interest in me as a patient. I wish he would have told me to find another Dr. By the time I went to another Dr. for my kidney stone lithotripsy did no good. He then referred me to a doctor at UCI. I had surgery to remove the kidney stone that was 1" X 1/2". I had suffered with pain for more than two years.
Dr Kar operated on me for prostate cancer in Oct of 2008 A robotic procedure was used in the surgery. As a result of that operation I was left with 100 % incontinence and 100% impotency. As a result I had to have a second operation ( with another surgeon) for the incontinence which was very costly and painful. Even today I still have leakage and have to wear a pad 24/7 and will have to the rest of my life.
In my opinion this is the worst Doctor on the planet. He did a procedure on me that I didn't need and now I am in pain everyday. In my opinion the only thing he wants to do is more procedures to get more money. I would call him a quack.
Dr. Kar performed my HIFU procedure for prostate cancer over a year ago. I have always found him to be up on the latest procedures available. Dr. Kar came highly recommended to me by a family member. Being treated by Dr. Kar is one of the best decisions I have ever made. I would recommend him and his caring staff to anyone looking for a quality urologist in a quality office.
Always professional and very knowledgeable. Have seen Dr. Kar for over 16 years and his level of care has always been great.
Rude staff and horrible doctor! He is an hour late to see patients and then hardly spends any time with you at your appointment.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
